About LX20+ Handheld Primary Light - by Dive Rite SKU: LT6900

The LX20+ takes cordless primary lights to the next level. Now 36% brighter and with additional power modes, the LX20+ delivers a maximum of 1500 lumens of 6500 kelvin light in a concentrated 6 degree spot beam. Its compact and robust design makes it an ideal handheld primary light and perfect travel companion. A new self-cleaning rotary magnetic switch allows easy operation of the light with a smooth twist action. With a dependable double O-ring sealed tail cap and 500 foot (152m) depth rating, the LX20+ excels under the most demanding diving conditions.

The LX20+ is powered by 4 user-replaceable high output 18650 rechargeable Li Ion batteries. Designed around an industry leading Cree LED chip to maximize output and efficiency, the LX20+ has four power modes to match a variety of diving conditions plus a strobe mode for when you really need to get someone’s attention:

High Power – 2.25 hours
Medium Power – 3 hours
Low Power – 6 hours
Power Saver – 30+ hours
Strobe Mode – 23 hours

A true constant current LED driver provides unparalleled efficiency and ensures constant light output as the battery is depleted. The integrated microprocessor control unit monitors battery voltage and automatically steps down the light output before the batteries are completely drained, designed to never leave you in the dark. The step down is indicated by a series of flashes after which the LX20+ will continue to provide an additional 3+ hours of useable light.

The LX20+ comes ready to dive with a soft hand mount and our exclusive quick change locking QRM mounting system. The package comes complete with:

LX20+ Handheld Light

Proposition 65

Safe Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 – Warnings Required

WARNING: This Dive Right In Scuba product can expose you to cretin chemicals which are known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. For more information go to www.P65Warnings.ca.gov

We appreciate your decision to purchase Dive Right In Scuba products to provide the best in water experience. We take our job seriously! You may have noticed that our products now show a warning label at point of sale referring to carcinogens and birth defects. You may also have begun to see warnings related to carcinogenic substances or substances causing birth defects prominently displayed in hotel lobbies, hospitals, or other places of business recently. These warnings are required by the State of California, and we believe that an explanation of the California statute legislating the requirement will provide you valuable information regarding the relative risks of the chemicals that may be present in consumer products.

In 1986, the State of California passed the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act; otherwise known as “Proposition 65” or "Prop 65". Prop 65 requires businesses like ours to disclose to individuals the presence of chemicals listed in the Act prior to point of sale. The regulations implementing this Act have been amended over time with the most recent updates will take effect on August 30, 2018. There are more than 900 chemicals on the Prop 65 Chemical List, including many chemicals that are found in components of a wide array of consumer goods or are used to manufacture components that make up consumer goods.

Prop 65 does not establish acceptable concentrations for any listed chemical; however, the agency which enforces it has established what is called "safe harbor" exposure levels for about one third of these chemicals below which warnings are not required. These "safe harbor" are established for listed carcinogens based on the quantity of the chemical that would result in one excess case of cancer in an exposed population of 100,000, assuming lifetime (70-year) exposure at the level in question. A similar process is used to establish safe harbor levels for listed reproductive toxicants. Additional information in plain language on safe harbor levels is available from the California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment at http://oehha.ca.gov/Prop65/background/p65plain.html

At Dive Right In Scuba, the safety of your in water experience is our highest priority. We go to great effort to select materials that offer superior value, quality, and durability while also being generally recognized as safe and reliable for the full life of the product. Dive Right In Scuba also works closely with many regulatory bodies, such as the US Coast Guard and Underwriter’s Laboratories, to ensure the longevity of your on-water safety through targeted selection of durable, long lasting materials and components that undergo significant validation testing before being used to manufacture end items. Sometimes the safety promise we offer appears at odds with the health and safety requirements of other legislation in certain parts of the world when some regulations are updated ahead of others. To ensure compliance with applicable legal requirements, Dive Right In Scuba has placed a warning on products that contain a Prop 65 listed chemical, either directly or as a part of the raw material supply chain. This allows us to comply with California law and provide our California consumers with the disclosure required by Prop 65, while still promising the safest on water experience possible.

Dive Right In Scuba is working diligently with regulatory bodies and our own manufacturing partners to continue to improve our product performance and reduce the presence of less desirable chemicals. Water is a precious resource we all share that is important to the health and well-being of our planet and all people. Our goal is to continue to enhance your water life experience while reducing our overall impact to the planet and, in particular, its waterways. While it is a bit of a juggling act to achieve, we are confident you will see continued improvement in both the immediate and long term future. We hope this explanation will enable you to understand why you will be seeing warnings on some our products.

Thank you for your continued use of Dive Right In Scuba products.

  2. Still a great light review by Matt on 5/12/2019

I demoed this light when it first came out and was relatively impressed with it at the time but just didn't need a handheld primary at the time. I recently decided to get a handheld as a backup primary and found this still to be one of the best on the market. Newer offerings either don't have adequate burn times, have poor beam patterns, have form factors that are too large, or aren't bright enough. I found that I also prefer it in the ocean over my corded light, but still use it mainly as a backup to a corded light in caves.

I really dislike soft gloves in general, and this isn't much better. The QRM is absolutely necessary with the softglove so you can easily remove it from glove when you need to check pressure or dump wing, but it's still too much hassle and not quick enough. I highly recommend buying the Dive Rite hard goodman handle to go with this light and screw the lighthead directly to the mounting plate, omitting the QRM altogether. Then it's easy to slide on and off hand without blinding people behind you when you need to do something.

  4. Outstanding primary light review by DANA on 3/13/2018
    Overall Rating

Got this for a primary light in the caves. It is great to lose the cord with my side mount rig which more than makes up for the little bit of added weight over my corded can light. I just rest the heel of the light on my wrist and don't even notice it. The light is as bright as my can light, and I feel that without the cord there is less to fail. I tied a snap clip on the back so I can attach it to my chest D ring and it will shine on my wet notes when I am writing. The lowest level lets me write in my wet notes note comfortably (easier in the eyes), as well as allowing battery charge conservation if needed. On that note I purchased spare batteries to make sure I am fully charged for the second dive. The light seems very solid, excellent quality, and there is now a lock on the QRM so it will not come off upon your splash, very nice addition. The flat back end is also nice, I can stand it up on the dining room table and shine it off the ceiling when the power goes out like it did this winter. The neighbors wondered how the lights were on without the generator running. I highly recommend this light, especially at half the price of a can light.

  5. Bright/Long Burn review by Carmine on 11/30/2015
    Overall Rating

This a very solid light that is very bright with long burn times. The light has a quick release goodman glove (aka QRM) that is very functional(?). What I do not like is the 6 degree spot, it's just a little too tight and bright a hot spot for my taste. And then there is a matter of serious concern regarding the QRM. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice goodman glove, however when one splashes the light can be jarred free and you lose your light. Dive Rite doesn't warn you (not that I'm aware of) that you should secure the light prior to splashing, then move it to the goodman glove. It seems like a pretty cool idea to be able to quickly remove and replace the light onto the goodman glove, but the more I think about it, the more I question the need to do so. I can think of 2 times when that might be needed and those are both very, very rare events. So what would you prefer a much higher likelihood of losing your light, which is not just a financial issue, but a safety issue as well, or be prepared for two very rare "problems", that can still be addressed without the feature. Bottom line, I prefer the idea of a non-can light that is permanently attached to my hand/wrist.

  • * Custom items do not qualify for a full refund.  If an item doesn't fit, we will do everything to make sure you get a proper fit.  But, on custom items, there can't always be a 100% refund, due to the custom nature of the item.
