About Dry Adhesive Drysuit Tape - by DRIS Dive Gear SKU: dryadhesive

Includes qty. 2- 14.5" strips (Shipped as one sheet with cut line to separate 2 strips) of Dry Adhesive Tape.  Tape is 1" Wide and can be applied around wrist and neck seals. Don't bother messing with glue to put your new seals on, get some heat tape....it works wonders and is just as strong if not stronger and easier to manage.

Can be purchased also as a donut for neck seals.  Donut is just 1 piece that comes uncut.  It is premarked, just cut it out and save the extra scraps for another project or touchup.

Can also be purchased as a 13"x16" sheet that you cut out your own strips or donut in any configuration( size good for 1 neck seal and 2 wrist seals with some extra)

Does not adhere to Neoprene, Trilam, or any other clothe material without an extra step.  You would need a base layer of Mcnett Seal Cement completely covering the bonding location(suit side).  Let the base layer fully dry, then the tape will adhere to that Urethane based base layer you now have on your suit.  Please call with ANY questions or clarification before install.

Be sure to clean your work before heating up.  When you think its clean, clean it again.  Clean ALL surfaces before heating.  That includes the both sides of the tape.

Safe Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 – Warnings Required

WARNING: This Dive Right In Scuba product can expose you to cretin chemicals which are known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. For more information go to www.P65Warnings.ca.gov

We appreciate your decision to purchase Dive Right In Scuba products to provide the best in water experience. We take our job seriously! You may have noticed that our products now show a warning label at point of sale referring to carcinogens and birth defects. You may also have begun to see warnings related to carcinogenic substances or substances causing birth defects prominently displayed in hotel lobbies, hospitals, or other places of business recently. These warnings are required by the State of California, and we believe that an explanation of the California statute legislating the requirement will provide you valuable information regarding the relative risks of the chemicals that may be present in consumer products.

In 1986, the State of California passed the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act; otherwise known as “Proposition 65” or "Prop 65". Prop 65 requires businesses like ours to disclose to individuals the presence of chemicals listed in the Act prior to point of sale. The regulations implementing this Act have been amended over time with the most recent updates will take effect on August 30, 2018. There are more than 900 chemicals on the Prop 65 Chemical List, including many chemicals that are found in components of a wide array of consumer goods or are used to manufacture components that make up consumer goods.

Prop 65 does not establish acceptable concentrations for any listed chemical; however, the agency which enforces it has established what is called "safe harbor" exposure levels for about one third of these chemicals below which warnings are not required. These "safe harbor" are established for listed carcinogens based on the quantity of the chemical that would result in one excess case of cancer in an exposed population of 100,000, assuming lifetime (70-year) exposure at the level in question. A similar process is used to establish safe harbor levels for listed reproductive toxicants. Additional information in plain language on safe harbor levels is available from the California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment at http://oehha.ca.gov/Prop65/background/p65plain.html

At Dive Right In Scuba, the safety of your in water experience is our highest priority. We go to great effort to select materials that offer superior value, quality, and durability while also being generally recognized as safe and reliable for the full life of the product. Dive Right In Scuba also works closely with many regulatory bodies, such as the US Coast Guard and Underwriter’s Laboratories, to ensure the longevity of your on-water safety through targeted selection of durable, long lasting materials and components that undergo significant validation testing before being used to manufacture end items. Sometimes the safety promise we offer appears at odds with the health and safety requirements of other legislation in certain parts of the world when some regulations are updated ahead of others. To ensure compliance with applicable legal requirements, Dive Right In Scuba has placed a warning on products that contain a Prop 65 listed chemical, either directly or as a part of the raw material supply chain. This allows us to comply with California law and provide our California consumers with the disclosure required by Prop 65, while still promising the safest on water experience possible.

Dive Right In Scuba is working diligently with regulatory bodies and our own manufacturing partners to continue to improve our product performance and reduce the presence of less desirable chemicals. Water is a precious resource we all share that is important to the health and well-being of our planet and all people. Our goal is to continue to enhance your water life experience while reducing our overall impact to the planet and, in particular, its waterways. While it is a bit of a juggling act to achieve, we are confident you will see continued improvement in both the immediate and long term future. We hope this explanation will enable you to understand why you will be seeing warnings on some our products.

Thank you for your continued use of Dive Right In Scuba products.

Bought the tape thinking it was to good to be true and it was, leaked on the first dive had to redo seals with the glue to stop leaks don’t wast your money just buy the glue

    ~ Dive Right In Scuba
If that happened, you either used it on the wrong material, or didn't follow the directions properly. You have to clean all surfaces, even both sides of the tape with MEK or Acetone. If
you didn't do all of that, or used something differently, it wouldn't work. This product works flawless when used properly. Feel free to call me so we can see where the install
    went wrong. ~ 815-267-8400

  2. Very easy to use - make sure to clean all surfaces very well review by Bob D on 6/19/2019
    Overall Rating

Very easy to use. Hardest part about using this is measuring everything and cutting it to fit the piece being adhered. Make sure to clean the suit, the tape, and anything else that will be involved. I've had great results using MEK to clean the parts, and this makes the tape get sticky which makes it easier to put in place prior to applying heat from a heat gun.

  3. Nerve-Wracking at first, but worth it review by Jimmy Bob on 7/15/2018
    Overall Rating

Rip off my old deteriorating latex neck seal and attach a new silicone one myself? Sounds scary, I better send it off. But no, the folks at DRIS walked me through the process. The first initial ironings and heat-gunnings were a bit scary. But then I got the hang of it and it went pretty smoothly. I spent more time worrying and playing around with scraps than actually doing it. Five dives later (even down to 120 ft) and everything is still good! It was nice to have a friend help hold things down (while wearing oven mitts) while I was using the heat gun and roller.

  4. Really great product review by Steve on 11/3/2016
    Overall Rating

I really like how easy and clean the wrist seal version of the dry adhesive tape works. Definitely watch the video and follow the steps including using MEK to clean the seal and a roller to press it tight. I previously bought this product and didn't use MEK to clean and the seal failed after about 20 dives.

  5. Incredible product, so easy to use! review by Chris on 6/16/2016
    Overall Rating

I am totally pleased with the round permanent wrist system as it was very easy to install using the dry tape from DRIS. Being able to safely and quickly change wrist seals is very important when a compromised drysuit could end your day of diving. I used the latex bottle seals and they are very comfy and the sizing is right on. Could not recommend these products any more!!! Thanks DRIS!

  7. Best adhesive ever review by Ryan on 5/25/2016
    Overall Rating

I've used this to install wrist and neck seals on my Tri lam suit. It's is great and you don't have to rush or worry about getting it right the first time you lay down the seal onto the suit. For use on Tri lam suit you do need to use glue and let dry overnight but then installing the seal is so easy. With a heat gun you can adhere small sections of the seal at a time so you can get a nice clean install.

  8. Better than duck tape review by j on 4/2/2016

This is a very quick fix and much better than my typical solution of duct tape. Get it done right the right time.

  9. Easy to use, strong bind review by Michael on 11/28/2015
    Overall Rating

This made changing out the neck seal on my fusion drysuit so easy. Expensive compared to PU glues but a lot cleaner.

Be sure to really clean both surfaces very very well (I used acetone) or else you may have issues with a lasting bind (I failed on my first attempt).

  10. Great item for new installers review by Steven on 4/19/2015
    Overall Rating

This tape works wonders for people new to replacing seals on drysuits and also for those of us who regularly replace their seals. it is kind of cheating (not really but I learned with contact cement) but it does make your install on the suit look very professionally done. Highly recommend to those wanting to learn how to install seals onto a drysuit.

I have used this several different times. To indtall neck seals, wrist seals and boots. Well worth the price to get the job done right the first time.

  12. works great review by jovan on 12/16/2014
    Overall Rating

Used to re-install my SI Tech wrist ring to my Whites drysuit after constant leaking. The tape doesn't take too much heat to make it stick, but the surfaces definitely need thorough cleaning for it to work. Living in CA I had a hard time finding MEK so I bought acetone. So far so good.

  13. easy to use, seem to activate at very low heat review by Aaron on 9/30/2014
    Overall Rating

Activate with very little heat, a home hair drier seems to work. This make it very easy to apply. The concern is will it be activated under sun and delaminate!!

I bought 3ft x 29". The sheet arrived with slight different dimension. It is more like 40" x 27'. Overall area is similar. 27" works for me. Buyer may want to aware.

  15. Much easier than glue review by Athos on 3/23/2014
    Overall Rating

I installed a few things with glue and a few things with this tape... The tape is way easier and seems to hold stronger. The main advantage for me over contact cement is that you apply the tape to one piece, and then line it up perfectly on the other piece before applying heat. With contact glue... once the two pieces touch is VERY hard to correct.

  16. review by will mcmanus on 9/8/2013

Great tape that is both cleaner and quicker than glue. Once installed, it is quite strong and will not come apart. Only downside is the cost compared to glue, but it is easily worth the time saved and the professional look.

  17. review by Allen Satterfield on 6/19/2013
    Overall Rating

Tape worked fantastic! Sooooo much easier and cleaner than aqua seal. Definitely worth the money. My only complaint is that I paid extra for the SI Tech ring size and had to cut the ring out myself. (only a pen scribed circle) I could have done that for $10.

I ordered this product to install my SiTech Neck Seal System. After contacting DRIS to make sure that I was doing things correctly- it made the job a breeze!!!!! I had my reservations on using this on my most important and Largest Hole in my drysuit- BUT, I cannot say enough good things about it now! This beats the hell out of messing with the glue and the overpowering STINK from it! If you want to do things the easy way and permanently- YOU GOTTA USE THIS!!!!!!!!!!!

  19. review by Gregory Gora on 5/28/2013
    Overall Rating

The product came as described. Followed the excellent videos from Mike and successfully installed the Si Tech silicone neck seal system on my daughters Fusion.

Initial installation was problematic, after talking with Mike found that you MUST use MEK or Acetone to clean and activate the tape. Not knowing what MEK was I just used alcohol and it wouldn't stick. After using MEK I am pretty confident the suit will rip before the ring will come out.

Awesome customer service as usual, I pass two other shops to do business with Mike.

THIS DRY ADHESSIVE TAPE IS THE WAY TO GO. USED SOME MCNETT SEAL FIRST, LET DRY, AND USED THE DRY ADHESSIVE WITH MY HEAT GUN. MINUTES LATER I WAS ALL DONE. NO MESS, NO PROBLEMS. I JUST CALLED THE SHOP FOR SOME QUICK POINTER(BIG HELP). WRIST SYSTEM INSTALLED AND WORKS GREAT. THANKS GUYS.

I followed 'Aqua-Andy's process to redo the cuffs on my Fusion using the strips. Very easy to work with - surprisingly thin too! You will not notice any additional bulk when using this tape. I have already suggested this for a friend that wants to add permanent cuffs to his suit. the DRIS crew did a great job, shipping out quickly. As it was my only item purchased (on that order) they were able to send it via envelope, rather than a package ... Shipping was only $0.85!

I used this tape to do a re install of the factory cuffs on my Fusion suit. I did a step by step on ScubaBoard can be found in the exposure suit section by Aqua-Andy. This tape makes the process almost too easy and leaves you wondering "is that it?" Not only does it make the install easier, the removal to replace the seal the next time will go much faster as well. much less messy and easier than traditional contact cement.

I purchased this adhesive to install my SI Tec Neck Seal system. It fit perfectly and was so easy to install!. I installed it on the inside of my USIA drysuit and it bonded with no problems at all. This was my first time installing a seal and it went flawlessly.

Wow! This tape is unbelievable. Makes changing out seals so simple and clean. I used a 1 inch strip on all my seals along with the drysuit glue and a heatgun had no problems at all. I cleaned with plenty of M.E.K. and got a super bond. DRIS really knows their stuff!

I've been using the Dry Adhesive Dry Suit Tape for a few years now, on my neck and wrist seal replacements. Very easy to use and it really does speed up the repair process. I highly recommend this product. If you have any issues the DRIS crew are always there to give helpful advice.

Awesome product. I have used this tape to replace latex wrist seals in my Fusion drysuit and it couldn't have gone more smoothly. I have used aquaseal and other adhesives for pockets and other repairs, but this is so much neater and cleaner. One season on the wrist seals and all is well.

Dry Adhesive Drysuit Tape is unbelievable, no glue needed just be sure to use the MEK that Mike talks about in the video. I must add that Dive Right In Scuba provided unbelievable customer service by actually calling me back to insure I understood what needed to be done to get the tape to adhere to my trilam drysuit.

  28. review by Bob Dankert on 4/15/2012

This stuff is really easy to use! I never want to use any type of glue on my suit any more, knowing I can instead use this tape. I really enjoy how easily you can install seals with this and can remove the tape if you need to remove it for any reason. Make sure to use plenty of methyl ethyl ketone when preparing the suit and whatever you are installing!

  29. review by Paul Hamstra on 3/1/2012
    Overall Rating

This product is like a flat sheet of hot glue. Cut into circle shape to apply with heat to your seal. My first use was not very successful, due to material incompatability with butyl rubber on my suit. While it does work as advertised with urathane base materials, it requires very, very clean surface and plenty of heat. On my first trial I applied with an iron, but I found the heat too hard to control and I use the heat gun instead.

Good product if you want to avoid using traditional glue, but not worth the extra expense in my opinion.

My name is Nikos and i am from Greece,i have the PolarFit Mares by Mobbys dry suit and i wanted to put the si tech silicone seal system both for neck and wrist seals,i asked the guys of Dive Right In Scuba about the Dry Adhesive Drysuit Tape and Adam was both quick and very helpfull with the answer he gave me!
The tape is very strong and you can heat it and re-heat many times without problem (i test it in a piece of my drysuit) it was easy (even that the Polarfit has a strange neck cut with a protective zip) to glue the neck ring with the help of a portasol SuperPro gas solder with a heat air tip.
i am very happy from all the people of Dive Right In Scuba which i talk via email (i specialy thank Debbie who was very kind to help me with the paying and shipping cost)
i will surely make business with you guys!!!

PS:PolarFit will need trimming for neck ring fit.not difficult to be done.

Wow, this stuff is easy to use. I was thinking it would be a hassle but I used it to attach a permanent ring to my wifes suit. After using this there is definitely no other way to go about suit repairs! :)

This stuff is awesome! I was curious about the product after watching the video. I gave it a shot with the permanent ring system and have to say is was the easiest repair to my drysuit I have ever made. I am a DIR/ DYI guy who is always looking to make the job easier and this product does exactly that. I have a Mares Drysuit with a PVC lining. I had to put two coats of Seal Cement as base for the tape, (thanks for the tip James) then on they went. Since I live in Europe, it was difficult to find MEK so I used Rubbing alcohol with great success. Hope this helps!

thicker than i expected. this is going to replace ALL other adhesive's in the near future, and is a must when installing aftermarket gear on your drysuit. easy to prep, easy to heat, sets just as quick. honestly the hardest part is cutting your tape to the necessary shape and size. in that light, the only complaint i have is that my tape "sized for neck tite" did not have the inner circle cut out. i was expecting an annulus - as shown in the preview above - but instead receibed a circle with a pattern stenciled inside. if not for that, five stars!

  36. review by Larry Collar on 8/3/2010

This is the easiest adhesive product I have ever used. Just add heat and the stuff sticks to whatever you stick it to. I used it to glue permanent wrist rings on my own dry suit. Don't know how I would have been able to get them on otherwise without leaving embarrassing glue smears all over my suit sleeves.

I used a hot iron to stick the dry adhesive to the permanent ring and let it cool. Next I slid the ring into the sleeve. I couldn't find the nifty roller Mike uses in his video so I stuffed a 3" PVC pipe into the sleeve for backing and clamped 2 stainless band clamps (radiator clamps) side-by-side around the outside of the sleeve to be glued. The bands held the suit sleeve against the permanent ring which was supported by the PVC pipe. Next I blew hot air from a heat gun over the band clamps and once it was good and hot I went to the fridge for a beer. Once I had finished about 1/2 of the beer, I loosened the band clamps and repeated the process on the other sleeve. As quick as I could enjoy a cool beverage the suit rings were permanently glued in place. And it looks like a professional did it - seriously!

If you need to glue a couple of things together and you like beer, this is the product for you. Oh yea, don't forget to clean all glued surfaces with MEK. Thanks Mike for another great recommendation.

I'm very impressed with the product, after 5 dives is still working without problems.
Dive Right in Scuba answered my questions very fast.
One thing you must put attention in the instructions notes, it says that you need to CLEAN the area and it says that more than ones, you really need to clean the area and that way you will get a perfect seal.

Mike gave great support over the phone answering my questions about this product prior to my purchase. The written instructions made using the product easier and with a better result than I would have managed on my own. I used this tape to install Si-Tec permanent rings on my Whites Fusion drysuit. I've repaired and modified several other types of drysuit over the years, so I've worked with a variety of liquid adhesives recommended for specific suit repairs. I can easily say the dry adhesive tape was the least frustrating, least messy, and quite possibly the strongest. I will definitely use this product again.

I buy this product in order to test this.
I`m very happy with this, because is easy to use, faster, clean and bond the latex very strongly.
I just think that Dive right in Scuba should provide a sheet with a clear description of the steps to use, since the video leaves some things to the imagination
Previously I changed my neck using conventional adhesive, which is slow and dirty.
I recommend everyone try it out.

If you return the product, you will not be credited back for the free shipping.

International Orders

Free Ground Shipping with Orders over $500

We also have some of the best shipping times in the world! Being centrally located in the US gives us prime placement. Most orders are to your door, with Standard Freight, in under 10 days!! With most other retailers you have to pay extra shipping costs to get it there that fast.

Dive Right In Scuba’s Free Shipping will apply to standard ground shipping anywhere in the World on orders totaling $500 or more (excludes rebreathers, tanks, compressors, and weights). Sale items also do not qualify for free shipping. If you work out a special price with Dive Right In Scuba in a quote or email, Free Shipping does NOT qualify. If you decide to have expedited shipping, you will be credited the normal ground shipping fee and only pay the difference to the expedited shipping. If you return the product, you will not be credited back for the free shipping.  This applies to addresses where USPS can make a delivery.  If you need other delivery methods, Free Shipping does NOT apply.  If you don't have a physical address to ship to (Utila), Free Shipping does NOT apply.

Super Saver International is offered for FREE on most orders that total over US $500 that are outside the US. The only problem is this shipping method does not provide realtime tracking information. The delivery time is typically 3 weeks or less, and can take longer to some of the more remote locations. Your items will ship insured and you may pay some import duties and taxes based on your Local Government. Lost packages can only be replaced after USPS has issued payment for the lost items.
US Postal Service Priority Mail International shipping offers you a low-cost and fast delivery option. Not counting time for the package to clear customs, it is about 2 weeks depending on your location. This option does not provide you with realtime tracking information.
US Postal Service Express Mail International is a very cost-effective choice for even faster delivery of your dive gear. This option typically takes about 1 week without counting customs clearing. As with the other USPS, there is no realtime tracking on your purchase. This is available in almost 200 countries around the globe.
UPS Worldwide Expedited International offers you a fast delivery option to more than 60 countries with rapid in-house customs clearance. Typical delivery times is 1 week to your address. UPS.com will automatically e-mail you the realtime tracking number when your order ships from Dive Right In Scuba. Our shopping cart will not offer you the UPS Worldwide Expedited shipping choice if that service is not available in your country.
UPS Worldwide Saver International is the absolute fastest delivery method to any country in about 3 business days or less. You will also receive rapid in-house customs clearance when saving time is the utmost concern for receiving your package. UPS.com automatically e-mails you the realtime tracking number when your order ships from Dive Right In Scuba. Some addresses may require additional time for in-country transit due to the remote location of that address. For service availability and exact delivery time commitments visit the UPS.com website for information about your address or contact us for a more accurate quote.

*Your items will ship insured and you may pay some import duties and taxes based on your Local Government. Lost packages can only be replaced after USPS or UPS has issued payment for the lost items. This is why we recommend shipping with UPS for tracking purposes and faster repayment. We have not lost any packages to date, but things can happen.

60/120-Day Return Policy

Hassle Free Returns

At Dive Right In Scuba, we are happy to extend our hassle free return policy to our customers: a 60/120-day Satisfaction Guarantee on ALL of our merchandise.

    • If it is within 60 days and the items are in new condition with original packaging, there is a 100% credit or refund* on any item.
    • If its within 30 days and the item is used, feel free to send it back and get a full 100% credit towards new equipment!  Thats right, you can send it back and get something different.  What do we do with these returns?  We have a used section on our website that we sell these at a discounted price!  * DRIS can, at our discretion, change this policy depending on the condition of the return.  Meaning, if you beat it up within 30 days and want to return it, you will NOT get a full refund.
    • If it is within 60 days and the items are used, or are not returned with the original packaging, it's not a problem, we will provide you with Loyalty Points for 75% of your products purchase price, that can be used to purchase any other product we sell at Dive Right In Scuba*. * This can be changed at our discretion based on how used or damaged a product is*
    • If it is between 60 - 120 days and the items are in new condition, we will provide you with Loyalty Points for 100% of your products purchase price, that can be used to purchase any product we sell at Dive Right In Scuba
    • You never need to contact us for a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) –Simply return your product to us with the RMA Form, To ensure that your return/exchange is handled in a speedy manner, always include a copy of your receipt. We do recommend calling with any issues to see what the best course of action is, its not always to just send back….so just give us a call and lets figure out the best response!
    • If you have bought an item and it needs to be returned, your original shipping charges are non refundable.
    • Shipping charges are NOT refundable.  If you received Free Shipping on your order, and return it, the charges for the shipping will come out of your refund.  Shipping is inlcuded if you keep the product, a return voids the free shipping.
  • * Certain Items may incure a 10% re-stocking fee(can be higher dependings on custom options or special order).  High dollar items may have a re-stocking fee which covers transaction and shipping charges.  If it is an exchange, there might not re-stocking fee depending on the situation.  We are people too, so we try to make sure it works for everyone depending on what is going on.
  • * Custom items do not qualify for a full refund.  If an item doesn't fit, we will do everything to make sure you get a proper fit.  But, on custom items, there can't always be a 100% refund, due to the custom nature of the item.

To return an item, just follow the simple directions below and we’ll take care of the rest!

    1. Pack the item(s) securely. All returned products should be in the condition they were received in, as well as in their original packaging. Please remember to include all warranty cards and manuals.
    2. Please include the RMA Form with a copy of your receipt.
    3. Send your package via UPS, FedEx or insured Parcel Post. (Please note that shipping charges cannot be refunded.) We recommend shipping ALL products back with an Insured Carrier with tracking numbers. This is the only way to track the product to ensure we receive it. Dive Right In Scuba is not responsible for lost or stolen packages due to Shipping Carriers.

In the event of any questions or problems with your order, or if the product received was defective or damaged, please contact our Customer Service Department within 60 days of receipt. We will make every effort to resolve the problem as quickly as possible. Customer Service can be reached at 1-815-267-8400 Monday through Friday 11 am - 9 pm Central Time or by emailing us at info@diverightinscuba.com.
