About CCR Liberty - Classic Backmount with FMCL- by Divesoft SKU: LIBERTYCCRBMFMCL

The Liberty CCR is a cutting edge, fault-tolerant, eCCR that has taken the technical diving community by storm. The modularity, simplicity, and reliability has made the Liberty CCR platform a favorite among explorers.

All Liberty CCRs are built to order and are modular. The main configurations for the Liberty are:

  • Classic Backmount - The traditional configuration that started it all. Available in front mounted or back mounted counter lungs.
  • Light - A travel friendly configuration of the Liberty rebreather that brings the weight down to 33lbs
  • Heavy - A DIR style configuration of the Liberty rebreather that allows you to utilize any size of onboard cylinders. It employs a traditional backplate and wing with a robust tubular stand.
  • Sidemount - A streamlined, sidemount variation that is popular with sidemount divers or divers looking for a bailout rebreather

Classic Backmount with FMCL

The big advantage of front-mounted counterlungs is undoubtedly their low work of breathing. The only way to make the work of breathing as low as possible is to place counterlungs as close to the lungs as possible. In combination with Liberty’s unique internal design, made to decrease and aerodynamic drag, CCR Liberty has the lowest work of breathing on the market.

All control elements located on the front-mounted counterlung are easily acessible. It is possible to connect offboard gases to the MAVs with a standard inflator bayonet connection, enabling you to go on longer, more difficult dives.

Choose the FMCL unit for a diving experience that prioritizes accessibility, functionality, and ease, ensuring your always prepared for any underwater adventure.

Liberty Anatomy

Head Features: 2 Control units are located in indivudually sealed compartments tested to 350m. They communicate with each other through the O2 cell block. In case of battery or CU failure, the second CU takes control over the unit operation utilizing its redundant side of components allowing the diver to remain on the loop.

Head Components: All the components inside of the head are sealed off to stay protected in the case of flooding. The components can be detached and replaced using a 3 mm hex key. Ideal for expedition diving as they can be easily exchanged out in the field.

Wet Connectors: Displays are connected to the head via wet connectors, so even with a flood they will keep working

4 O2 Cells: 2 for each control unit located in a sealed block. Smart algorithm. The unit compares one cell with the other 3 cells and then performs the same test on each remaining cell. This process is constantly repeated throughout the dive.

O2 Calibration: CCR Liberty is calibrated by a supplied calibration jig which directs gas flow directly to the O2 sensors, allowing for minimal gas use for the most accurate calibration of your cells. The unit takes into account the altitude the calibration is performed in. The Divesoft Mobile application can be used to easily verify the correct mV values of your sensors.

4 Pressure Sensors: 2 for each part of the unit. Know your loop pressure to a tenth of a millibar. Positive / Negative checks completed in 1 minute each. PREVENT A FLOOD WITH A PERFECT PRESSURE TEST.

2 Optional Helium Sensors: With Divesoft’s patented technology proven and tested in our Analyzers. The Helium sensors can be used as a redundant method of measuring PPO2 when used with Helium mixes. In the unlikely case of loss of all O2 sensors, the Helium sensors can be used to calculate your PPO2.

2 Magnetic Solenoid Valves: The solenoids (each for its corresponding half of the unit) are a single source of gas for the unit and they alternate when operating based on a predictive algorithm, – the unit opens the solenoid for a specific amount of time, based on your Setpoint, Current PPO2, and your depth, providing accurate oxygen addition for a smoother diving experience. They are designed to be in a closed position when inactive and they are protected from each end to prevent any debris from getting inside.

2 Li-Ion Batteries: Each is powering each half of the head. USB rechargeable. Easy to exchange. Each battery is insulated to work in extreme environments and has an exhaust valve. In case of gas discharge from within the battery, gas will be vented out into the environment and not into the breathing loop. Battery life: 35+ hours in Dive Mode, up to 11 months in Standby Mode.

Handsets: Every unit comes with 2 handsets. Operate your unit through 1 or 2 handsets. In the event of a damaged handset (HS), there is no effect on the function of the unit as the Control Units (CUs) are located within sealed independent compartments. The handsets contain the vibration alarm motors, thermometers, inclinometers, accelerometers, and light sensors but none of the critical computational components. Each handset has vibration alarms that go beyond visual alarms to let you know any important information

4 Displays: Every CCR Liberty comes with two handsets, operating in coordination with the HUD/ODA and buddy display. All the connectors are water-resistant and ensure operation even in case of flooding.

HUD Option: Displays your PPO2 information while in dive mode and other information in standby mode. The HUD incorporates a rotating shade and has a colour-blind mode. Alternative to the HUD is ODA – Optical Display Adapter which displays your dive information on the screen right in front of your eye.

ODA Option: An alternative to choose from instead of the HUD. Get the most important information about your dive in real-time right in front of your eye. The ODA also features a built-in compass and buddy display.

Buddy Display: The Buddy Display either glows/flashes green or red and keeps your buddy aware of the function of your unit.

Air Integration: Wireless integration with pressure sensors significantly simplifies gas pressure checks in both cylinders. This reliable system provides simplicity and increases awareness by displaying the cylinder’s pressure on the user’s handset in graphical or numerical form. The unit is also able to calculate the estimated metabolic oxygen consumption. The Air Integration allows you to detect leaks from 1st stage regulator/cylinder valve connection as a part of your Pre-Dive check.

Closed Cylinder Detection: This feature significantly increases the safety of the diver. When the unit is used in conjunction with Air Integration, if the unit enters dive mode with closed cylinders, or looses the high pressure the system warns the diver with a visual warning message and handset vibration about low pressure in the system.

Build in Gas Analyzer: Use your Head as a gas analyser if. You can also analyse helium mixes as long as your Helium content is over 30% when used with Helium sensors.

Bluetooth Connection: Wireless connection to a mobile phone or desktop computer will make downloading your dive logs and updating your firmware versions enjoyable and significantly more efficient. Liberty communicates with the desktop application “Divesoft.center” for Windows and iOS and a mobile application “Divesoft.app”for Android and iPhone.

Built in Pre-Dive check: The semi-automatic pre-dive check verifies that all electronic systems, sensors, and solenoid valves are under your control. In simple 11 steps, you can quickly very your unit is ready to dive.

Pressure Tests done in 1 Minute: The positive and negative pressure test is done in 1 minute each. This accurately detects any leaks of the breathing loop to prevent flooding. Simply evacuate/inflate the loop until the unit tells you to stop and starts a 60 sec. countdown. You can monitor your actual loop pressure within 0,1 millibar. Assurance that your unit is safe to dive.

ADV: The Diaphragm Automatic Diluent Valve is integrated into the counter lung t-piece to allow for diluent gas addition to create optimal loop volume

Cordura Counterlungs with OPV: Sleek counterlungs placed on your shoulder with OPV that has dump valve pull placed on your shoulder to make sure you’ll find it always in the same place. The CL’s are made easy to remove for cleaning

Manual Addition Valve: Divesoft offers an unique system of MAVs included in every BM configuration. The MAVs are located on the FMCL when using the Liberty with FMCL configuration

Flood Tolerance: The back mounted counterlungs are well resistant to flooding. With the benefit of pull dump routed on the shoulder making DIL flush a breeze.

Canister Sizes: Liberty CCRs use a radial type scrubber for the best work of breathing, flood tolerance, and heat insulation. Standard Scrubber holds 5.58lbs and offers a duration of 4-6 hours. The XL Scrubber holds 7.26lbs and offers a duration of 5-8 hours. Both have a water trap

Cylinders: This unit comes with 3L / 23cu/ft HP Steel cylinders with inline valves

Building your Unit:

Choose from BOV / DSV

DSV:

DSV is a simple and reliable mouthpiece which has 2 operating positions:

Opened (Dive mode)

Closed (Surface mode)

DSV FEATURES

Dive surface valve is designed with the smart minimalism in mind. It is the most compact and lightest mouthpiece possible. Our DSV is a part of Liberty’s inner aerodynamics and allows high flow with minimal resistance for maximal breathing comfort.

Bailout Valve:

The Divesoft BOV allows you to switch to Open Circuit with one turn. It has 2 operating positions:

Closed Circuit Mode

Open Circuit Mode

BOV FEATURES

The bailout valve can immediately switch from rebreather to open circuit bailout in an emergency. There is no need to remove the mouthpiece from your mouth in such a dangerous situation as hypoxia, hyperoxia or hypercapnia. You make just one easy movement to switch to open circuit.

Liberty BOV is really unique. It is a gamechanger on the market thanks to its functional design and features. Even though it combines a standard mouthpiece with second stage regulator, it stays light and compact. It is neutrally buoyant which prevents jaw’s fatigue during long dives. It is designed to be versatile, it is possible to connect it to the Divesoft patented MAVs or to implement a built-in ADV. Modular design allows you to choose between a standard moutpiece or opt for a connector for a variety of full-face masks.

ADV Selection:

Standard:

Our standard ADV uses simple mechanical design. The valve is opened when pressed by opposite side of the inhale counterlung, making it easily accessible. The standard ADV has an isolator with possibility to change the direction of opening and closing.

ADV Membrane:

Membrane ADV made to be mounted directly onto a counterlung. The membrane ADV ensures a precise and exact addition of diluent whenever you need it. A minimalistic construction ensures the maximum reliability. A second stage valve is made from four parts and two sealing components. This makes it is virtually unbreakable and simple to maintain. The ADV incudes an isolator which can shut the ADV off if necessary.

ADV T Piece:

Membrane ADV placed in the T-piece will allways add the exact ammount of diluent needed. It is designed with the principle of a second stage regulator, that is why the automatic diluent addition is so very natural and smooth. Despite the smoothnes and readiness of addition it doesn’t overfeed you with a gas and doesn’t affect your buoyancy in unforeseen moments.

Liberty design is typical for its minimalism and simplicity and our membrane ADV is no exception. It only consists of 6 parts, making it is very easy to repair when needed.

Choose from Doughnut or Horseshoe Wing

Horseshoe:

A horseshoe BCD is commonly used in technical diving. 22l volume of the wing provides sufficient lift to neutral or positive buoyancy even when the unit is completely flooded. The tough CORDURA 2000 is used for maximum endurance.

Doughnut:

Doughnut style wing provides real stability. It allows you to dump the gas from the entire wing in all positions and does not make any air pouches. Additional lift in the backside helps divers to move forward their center of mass. It is especially useful when using a wetsuit or short suit or when the diver has “heavy legs”. Thanks to a better gas distributin it is slimmer and narrower than a standard horseshoe BCD.

22l volume of the wing provides sufficient lift to neutral or positive buoyancy even when the unit is totally flooded. The tough CORDURA 2000 is used for the maximal endurance.

Choose Your Scrubber Size

Standard 5.58lb

The inner scrubber is made from very fine stainless steel mesh, the lid is made from thick plastic. It allows very comfortable filling. Opening and closing is very quick and simple. The functional and reliable water trap is placed in the bottom. During the stress test according to standard EN 14143:2013 there was proven that the scrubber duration is 2 h 48 min. The test conditions were 4°C, breathing 40 l/min, CO2 production 1.6 l/min. Usual stack time is 4 hours in cold water and 6 hours in warm water with moderate effort.

XL 7.25lb:

The extra large scrubber design reduces the inner space. The lid is made from a thin stainless steel plate, scrubber walls are made out of a stainless steel mesh, water trap is reduced to minimum. This allows us to keep the same outer dimensions with bigger inner volume and scrubbing capacity. It is possible to use this scrubber for 5 hours in cold water or up to 8 hours in warm water and moderate effort.

Choose Your Stand

Stainless Steel - Standard Size

Standard stand is short and compact. For that reason it is intended for overhead environment where space is limited. Shorter length is beneficial for ladies or men of smaller stature. It weights 0.9 kg (2 lb).

The stand is an integral part of Liberty backplate. It has four main functions: to keep the unit standing when on the land, canister support (part of the canister locking system), lumbar support for the diver (unit itself is uncomfortably short), 1st stage regulator protection.

Stainless Steel - Long and Wide

Long and wide stand provides extra stability when on the land, the unit stays secure even on a boat or a bumpy surface. The longer stand is beneficial for men or taller ladies because it provides better lumbar support and much better comfort when putting the unit on and off and sitting on the bench or inflatable tube of the boat. The inner space of the stand is big enough for you to attach an argon tank to it. It is possible to attach additional D-rings directly to the stand for attaching bailout cylinders or other gear. Weight of stainless steel LONG&WIDE Stand 1.3 kg (2.9 lb).

HUD / ODA

HUD

Displays your PPO2 information while in dive mode and other information in standby mode. The HUD incorporates a rotating shade and has a colour-blind mode. Alternative to the HUD is ODA – Optical Display Adapter which displays your dive information on the screen right in front of your eye.

ODA:

Optical Display Adapter (ODA) provides divers with a constant overview of the most important CCR diving data. The diver has all the data right in front of his eyes, which significantly increases the comfort and safety of diving. The full colour display has a very fine resolution and displays the most important data for a CCR:- Current loop ppO 2 , Setpoint, Depth, Dive time, Decompression, Ascent rate, OXY/DIL pressure, Graphics indicator of O2 sensor values in bar graphCOMPASSODA has a built-in tilt compensated compass.FLASH WARNINGSThe diver is always warned quickly by red flashes if safe values are exceeded.BUDDY DISPLAYThe front buddy display warns your diving partner, who can provide you with immediate assistance in the event of an emergency.OPTICS AND DISPLAYODA optics are made of top-quality sapphire glass with an anti-reflective coating. This ensures a clear view of the display without glare. The optics work on the principle of a collimator, so it not only enlarges the display of the miniature display, but also allows you to monitor the display and the environment at the same time.Diver can adjust the focus of the optics for their eyesight using the focusing ring on the eyepiece. At the same time, it can determine whether the display will have a right or left eye, according to its dominant eye, using an adjustable mount. The adjustable mount is stable enough to withstand riding a scooter, so you will always have ODA in front of your eyes. The ODA is connected via a HUD / BD connector to the Liberty 2021 Edition head. The display itself is attached to the DSV or BOV on the rail in the same way as the HUD.Using a luxmeter, the ODA can determine the amount of ambient light and automatically adjust the brightness of the display. ODA is thus readable in all conditions from direct sunlight to complete darkness.OTHER FEATURESODA does not need to be charged because it is powered by the Liberty CCR.The display is connected via a super durable and flexible cable. The hydrodynamic design of the ODA prevents the ODA from moving on the holder during scootering.ODA is only compatible with Liberty 2021 Edition. If you want to use ODA on your Liberty, find out about upgrade options here.

    • If it is within 60 days and the items are used or are not returned with the original packaging, it's not a problem, we will provide you with Loyalty Points for 75% of your product purchase price, which can be used to purchase any other product we sell at Dive Right In Scuba*. * This can be changed at our discretion based on how used or damaged a product is*

    • Shipping charges are NOT refundable.  If you received Free Shipping on your order, and return it, the charges for the shipping will come out of your refund.  Shipping is included if you keep the product, a return voids the free shipping.

Proposition 65

Safe Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 – Warnings Required

WARNING: This Dive Right In Scuba product can expose you to certain chemicals which are known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. For more information go to www.P65Warnings.ca.gov

We appreciate your decision to purchase Dive Right In Scuba products to provide the best in water experience. We take our job seriously! You may have noticed that our products now show a warning label at point of sale referring to carcinogens and birth defects. You may also have begun to see warnings related to carcinogenic substances or substances causing birth defects prominently displayed in hotel lobbies, hospitals, or other places of business recently. These warnings are required by the State of California, and we believe that an explanation of the California statute legislating the requirement will provide you valuable information regarding the relative risks of the chemicals that may be present in consumer products.

In 1986, the State of California passed the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act; otherwise known as “Proposition 65” or "Prop 65". Prop 65 requires businesses like ours to disclose to individuals the presence of chemicals listed in the Act prior to point of sale. The regulations implementing this Act have been amended over time with the most recent updates will take effect on August 30, 2018. There are more than 900 chemicals on the Prop 65 Chemical List, including many chemicals that are found in components of a wide array of consumer goods or are used to manufacture components that make up consumer goods.

Prop 65 does not establish acceptable concentrations for any listed chemical; however, the agency which enforces it has established what is called "safe harbor" exposure levels for about one third of these chemicals below which warnings are not required. These "safe harbor" are established for listed carcinogens based on the quantity of the chemical that would result in one excess case of cancer in an exposed population of 100,000, assuming lifetime (70-year) exposure at the level in question. A similar process is used to establish safe harbor levels for listed reproductive toxicants. Additional information in plain language on safe harbor levels is available from the California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment at http://oehha.ca.gov/Prop65/background/p65plain.html

At Dive Right In Scuba, the safety of your in water experience is our highest priority. We go to great effort to select materials that offer superior value, quality, and durability while also being generally recognized as safe and reliable for the full life of the product. Dive Right In Scuba also works closely with many regulatory bodies, such as the US Coast Guard and Underwriter’s Laboratories, to ensure the longevity of your on-water safety through targeted selection of durable, long lasting materials and components that undergo significant validation testing before being used to manufacture end items. Sometimes the safety promise we offer appears at odds with the health and safety requirements of other legislation in certain parts of the world when some regulations are updated ahead of others. To ensure compliance with applicable legal requirements, Dive Right In Scuba has placed a warning on products that contain a Prop 65 listed chemical, either directly or as a part of the raw material supply chain. This allows us to comply with California law and provide our California consumers with the disclosure required by Prop 65, while still promising the safest on water experience possible.

Dive Right In Scuba is working diligently with regulatory bodies and our own manufacturing partners to continue to improve our product performance and reduce the presence of less desirable chemicals. Water is a precious resource we all share that is important to the health and well-being of our planet and all people. Our goal is to continue to enhance your water life experience while reducing our overall impact to the planet and, in particular, its waterways. While it is a bit of a juggling act to achieve, we are confident you will see continued improvement in both the immediate and long term future. We hope this explanation will enable you to understand why you will be seeing warnings on some our products.

Thank you for your continued use of Dive Right In Scuba products.
