Safe Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 – Warnings Required

We appreciate your decision to purchase Dive Right In Scuba products to provide the best in water experience. We take our job seriously! You may have noticed that our products now show a warning label at point of sale referring to carcinogens and birth defects. You may also have begun to see warnings related to carcinogenic substances or substances causing birth defects prominently displayed in hotel lobbies, hospitals, or other places of business recently. These warnings are required by the State of California, and we believe that an explanation of the California statute legislating the requirement will provide you valuable information regarding the relative risks of the chemicals that may be present in consumer products.

In 1986, the State of California passed the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act; otherwise known as “Proposition 65” or "Prop 65". Prop 65 requires businesses like ours to disclose to individuals the presence of chemicals listed in the Act prior to point of sale. The regulations implementing this Act have been amended over time with the most recent updates will take effect on August 30, 2018. There are more than 900 chemicals on the Prop 65 Chemical List, including many chemicals that are found in components of a wide array of consumer goods or are used to manufacture components that make up consumer goods.

Prop 65 does not establish acceptable concentrations for any listed chemical; however, the agency which enforces it has established what is called "safe harbor" exposure levels for about one third of these chemicals below which warnings are not required. These "safe harbor" are established for listed carcinogens based on the quantity of the chemical that would result in one excess case of cancer in an exposed population of 100,000, assuming lifetime (70-year) exposure at the level in question. A similar process is used to establish safe harbor levels for listed reproductive toxicants. Sometimes the safety promise we offer appears at odds with the health and safety requirements of other legislation in certain parts of the world when some regulations are updated ahead of others. To ensure compliance with applicable legal requirements, Dive Right In Scuba has placed a warning on products that contain a Prop 65 listed chemical, either directly or as a part of the raw material supply chain. This allows us to comply with California law and provide our California consumers with the disclosure required by Prop 65, while still promising the safest on water experience possible.

Dive Right In Scuba is working diligently with regulatory bodies and our own manufacturing partners to continue to improve our product performance and reduce the presence of less desirable chemicals. Water is a precious resource we all share that is important to the health and well-being of our planet and all people.     Purchase this for some cold water diving. I wanted something just a bit warmer that my 3mil. This fit the bill. Appears well made and after a dozen or so dives still looks new. I do experience some jaw fatigue, but that may be just due to my face shape. Not enough that I wouldn't wear this for warmth though.

    Waterproof hoods are simply the best hood you can buy. I've owned many other hoods over the years and this one if the best. The venting system works, the neoprene and construction are top notch. And I like the bib/no bib option. Highly recommend.

    Fantastic hood. Keeps you warm down into the low 40s. Size chart is accurate. Inner material is very smooth so it is easy to put on the hood, slide it down your head and leave it around your neck while you suit up with the rest of the gear and not get overheated. Would recommend to any diver I meet.

    I've used this hood on approximately 100 dives and it's still going strong. The vents work great and I get no air bubbles in the hood. I dive in water temperatures that are in the mid to upper 40's and it keeps warm.

    Compared to other hoods I have purchased, this hood is by far the best constructed hood out there. The details and workmanship are excellent.

    The chin area is very well contoured to fit a tricky area and is smooth without any seams to irritate the skin.

    My wife's extra small is so stretchy that it fits my large head (albeit a bit tight).

    I have had 5 dives in this hood so far. I love everything about it. I use a drysuit. I can't stand bibs. IMO, bibs never stay tucked in. Instead they point up and look like a pet funnel. This hood has no bib, problem solved. My head, chin, neck stayed warm and comfortable in 45F water at 60-70' depth. The hood vented easily. I had absolutely no problem with equalization. Yet another great product from Waterproof. DRIS staff were great at helping me pick the correct size over the online chat. At the end of the chat sessions I received an email with the transcript of the entire chat . The hood sizes run true to size, my head circumference is 22". I ordered size ML. Fits great! Great service and customer care by DRIS.

    This top-quality hood is made of a combination of a couple of different wetsuit thicknesses. It's made with drysuits in mind, so it does not have a bib. The inside has a nice slippery material so that the hood slides on easily, wet or dry. I have worn it with a drysuit in temps down to the high 40's, and my head was the only part of me that stayed warm for the entire dive. The anatomical shape of the hood makes it fit my head very well, better than the three other brands of drysuit hoods I have tried. I really like that the chin area does not come up so high as to interfere with your mouth while biting on a regulator.

    My experience with DRIS was great. I spoke with a sales representative on the phone about several brands of wetsuit hoods I was considering. He recommended this hood and helped me get the right size on the first try. As a bonus, this hood was a little cheaper than the other two I was considering. Great product and great overall experience.

    Very warm and comfortable hood. Pros compared with other brands I had tried (Bare and Whites): No air trapping in top of hood. Easy to adjust my mask fit. Conforms nicely to fit around my jaw without being too tight or too loose.
    Great customer support before purchase in advising on proper sizing. EXCELLENT customer support when there was a logistical glitch in the order (another item was out of stock but we needed the hoods right away). Bottom line: Mike got the hoods to us in time for our dive trip and I was extremely HAPPY. Two fins (thumbs) up!

    I was looking for a non-zippered drysuit hood and this fit the bill. Despite being 7mm, it doesn't feel that think and keeps my head warm in Northern California water temps, and doesn't limit my mobility like my previous zippered hood did. It would have been nice to have a 3XL size for perfect comfort, but the hood has stretched out a bit and fits better now.

    This is a very warm and well designed hood! I have a White's drysuit hood (couple years old) which I thought I lost but found after this hood arrived. Comparing the two hoods, this one is definitely warmer than the Whites hood and is better built. I've had some issues with air building up at the top of my White's hood but this has not been a problem at all in this hood. The dual vents are very well designed, as is the rest of this hood.

The only problem is this shipping method does not provide realtime tracking information. The delivery time is typically 3 weeks or less, and can take longer to some of the more remote locations. Your items will ship insured and you may pay some import duties and taxes based on your Local Government. Lost packages can only be replaced after USPS has issued payment for the lost items.
  US Postal Service Priority Mail International shipping offers you a low-cost and fast delivery option. Not counting time for the package to clear customs, it is about 2 weeks depending on your location. This option does not provide you with realtime tracking information. 
  US Postal Service Express Mail International is a very cost-effective choice for even faster delivery of your dive gear. This option typically takes about 1 week without counting customs clearing.   UPS Worldwide Expedited International offers you a fast delivery option to more than 60 countries with rapid in-house customs clearance. Typical delivery times is 1 week to your address. UPS.com will automatically e-mail you the realtime tracking number when your order ships from Dive Right In Scuba. Our shopping cart will not offer you the UPS Worldwide Expedited shipping choice if that service is not available in your country.
  UPS Worldwide Saver International is the absolute fastest delivery method to any country in about 3 business days or less. At Dive Right In Scuba, we are happy to extend our hassle free return policy to our customers: a 60/120-day Satisfaction Guarantee on ALL of our merchandise.

    • If it is within 60 days and the items are in new condition with original packaging, there is a 100% credit or refund* on any item.
    • If its within 30 days and the item is used, feel free to send it back and get a full 100% credit towards new equipment!  Thats right, you can send it back and get something different.  What do we do with these returns?  We have a used section on our website that we sell these at a discounted price!  * DRIS can, at our discretion, change this policy depending on the condition of the return.  Meaning, if you beat it up within 30 days and want to return it, you will NOT get a full refund.  
    • If it is within 60 days and the items are used, or are not returned with the original packaging, it's not a problem, we will provide you with Loyalty Points for 75% of your products purchase price, that can be used to purchase any other product we sell at Dive Right In Scuba*. * This can be changed at our discretion based on how used or damaged a product is*
    • If it is between 60 - 120 days and the items are in new condition, we will provide you with Loyalty Points for 100% of your products purchase price, that can be used to purchase any product we sell at Dive Right In Scuba
    • You never need to contact us for a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) –Simply return your product to us with the RMA Form, To ensure that your return/exchange is handled in a speedy manner, always include a copy of your receipt. We do recommend calling with any issues to see what the best course of action is, its not always to just send back….so just give us a call and lets figure out the best response!
    • If you have bought an item and it needs to be returned, your original shipping charges are non refundable.
    • Shipping charges are NOT refundable.  If you received Free Shipping on your order, and return it, the charges for the shipping will come out of your refund.  Shipping is inlcuded if you keep the product, a return voids the free shipping.
  • * Certain Items may incure a 10% re-stocking fee(can be higher dependings on custom options or special order).  High dollar items may have a re-stocking fee which covers transaction and shipping charges.  If it is an exchange, there might not re-stocking fee depending on the situation.  We are people too, so we try to make sure it works for everyone depending on what is going on.
  • * Custom items do not qualify for a full refund.  If an item doesn't fit, we will do everything to make sure you get a proper fit.  But, on custom items, there can't always be a 100% refund, due to the custom nature of the item.

 

To return an item, just follow the simple directions below and we’ll take care of the rest!

 

    1. Pack the item(s) securely. All returned products should be in the condition they were received in, as well as in their original packaging. Please remember to include all warranty cards and manuals.
    2. Please include the RMA Form with a copy of your receipt.
    3. Send your package via UPS, FedEx or insured Parcel Post. (Please note that shipping charges cannot be refunded.) We recommend shipping ALL products back with an Insured Carrier with tracking numbers. This is the only way to track the product to ensure we receive it. Dive Right In Scuba is not responsible for lost or stolen packages due to Shipping Carriers.

 

In the event of any questions or problems with your order, or if the product received was defective or damaged, please contact our Customer Service Department within 60 days of receipt. We will make every effort to resolve the problem as quickly as possible.
