Founded in 2007 with the motto “No limits”, Hollis personifies what it means to explore the underwater world. From their headquarters in Utah, they are centrally located to a number of diving opportunities on either coast as well as inland and the Great Lakes. This gives them the advantage to test out their prototypes and ideas in a number of different conditions and get back to the drawing board as soon as the next day! While many manufacturers focus on a core of product types, the deep expertise of the Hollis team allows them to manufacture and distribute a wide array of products from exposure protection to fins, to sport rebreather technology. With that in mind, let’s take a quick tour of some of the more popular offerings from the solid folks at Team Hollis!
SMS Katana Sidemount System
Designed by Nick Hollis himself with extensive feedback from experienced cave divers and cave instructors alike, the SMS Katana Sidemount System is a trus explorer’s tool. With features like a streamlined design, 35lbs of lift, strategically placed D-rings, and infinitely adjustable one size fits all “H” harness, the SMS katana builds on the successes of the SMS 75 and 100 sidemount systems. As if that wasn’t enough, the Katana is constructed tough with years of extensive exploration in mind. Ready to go sidemount or need a new rig? Give the SMS Katana a shot!
200LX + DCX Regulator
Ready for the next generation in tough, easy breathing regulators? Then give the 200LX + DCX Regulator set a shot! With core features like; pneumatically balanced PVD valve technology, diver adjustable inhalation and venturi, lightweight design intended to prevent jaw fatigue, and a reversible demand valve, it’s clear to see why experienced divers often opt for the 200LX! To add to that, with this set you get parts for life and a 2 year service interval!
Prism 2 Rebreather
Are you tired of having to get fills multiple times a day? Wish you could stay down longer? If that’s the case, perhaps it’s time to go “bubbleless” and opt for rebreather diving! Well, then you need to take a close look at the Prism 2 Rebreather! With the ability to stand up to the rigors of U.S. Navy divers, the Prism 2 isn’t a fragile system! It was designed with true exploration in mind, so go ahead and throw it in to some serious water! With this fully electronic closed circuit unit, you get; a radial scrubber design for less work of breathing, primary heads down display allowing you to easily see crucial dive information, an independent secondary analog display that works even when the batteries are dead, and user selectable set points! With all of these features, it’s easy to see why the pros opt for the Prism 2!
Wait, there’s more…
Like mentioned in the beginning, Hollis is known for a full array of solid diving gear, so even if you don’t need a rebreather, regulators, or sidemount rig, they have you covered. Need fins? A mask? How about exposure protection? Yeah, Hollis has got you covered! So, go ahead and see all of the awesome stuff Hollis puts out right here on our Hollis page!
