We are happy to announce that as of Today, Scuba Emporium has now joined the Dive Right In Scuba family. From today on, it will be Dive Right In Scuba Orland! Scuba Emporium has been located in Chicago's south suburbs since 1974. The facility is located approximately 45 minutes from downtown Chicago and offers a 7,500 sq. ft. store with two classrooms and a nice, warm, in-ground heated pool. The new location is at: 16336 South 104th Avenue Orland Park, IL 60467

Dive Right In Scuba creates some of the best DMs and why wouldnt we as we want them to work for us!  We dont just make as many as we can to pump out students like other shops.  We create the Divemasters that Instructors worldwide respect and know are the quality they are looking for.  Whether you want to DM here with Dive Right In Scuba, or with another shop in Cozumel, we will get you prepared for your future in diving! As the largest SDI 5 Star Instructional Training Facility in the Midwest, you are in great hands.

We offer SDI, TDI, and PADI DM courses.  Please see below for the course requirements. You can also download the Syllabus at the bottom of the page.


The SDI Divemaster Course is the first professional level certification. During this course you will be challenged and learn what it is like to work with divers as they experience the underwater world for the first time and you will learn how to lead already certified divers and show them some of your favorite critters or dive sites.  Your SDI Instructor will also teach you how to manage divers, work the dive deck of a boat, and conducting safe and enjoyable dives.  Other things you can expect to learn is diving Physics and Physiology, and being a professional SDI Divemaster.  Your skills will be refined to demonstration quality and your knowledge increased to that of a professional.  After you have completed the SDI Divemaster course you can move onto the SDI Assistant Instructor Course where you will learn more about academic presentations and have the ability to teach certain SDI specialties.

Must be Advanced Diver, Rescue Diver, CPR, First Aid, 40 logged dives, Deep Diver Specialty, Night and Limited Visibility Specialty.

Padi DM

Looking for the first step in working with scuba as a career? Your adventure into the professional levels of recreational scuba diving begins with the PADI Divemaster program. Working closely with a PADI Instructor, in this program you expand your dive knowledge and hone your skills to the professional level. PADI Divemaster training develops your leadership abilities, qualifying you to supervise dive activities and assist instructors with student divers. PADI Divemaster is the prerequisite certification for both the PADI Assistant Instructor and PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor certifications.

18 years old
- A PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification from another training organization)
- A PADI Rescue Diver (or qualifying certification from another training organization)
- An Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care (or qualifying first aid and CPR training from another organization) course completion within the past 24 months.
- Have at least 20 dives to begin the course and 60 for certification
- Be fit for diving and submit a Medical Statement (PDF) signed by a physician within the last 12 months.
- PADI DM Crewpack, Current Log Book

$525 Includes all Processing fees.  Materials extra
* This class costs more money because it is taught with less frequency and has lower attendance than the SDI Divemaster Class.


This highly specialized position requires certain training and is only available upon request for students that have reached a certain point in their technical diving career.
