The Coolest After-School Activity Ever
Kids are natural explorers. They don't have the same hesitation adults do; they just want to see what is under the surface. At Dive Right In Scuba in Orland Park, we channel that curiosity into confidence. We offer programs that range from a fun afternoon in the pool to earning a real-deal certification card. Whether you are looking for a unique birthday party idea or want to join an elite underwater club, we have a program for your young explorer.
Ages 8-9: Join the Team
For kids who aren't quite old enough for full certification but want more than a one-time splash, the PADI Seal Team is the perfect solution. It is a structured learning path that feels like an underwater scouting program.
- PADI Seal Team: This course is built around "AquaMissions." In the first five missions, kids learn real scuba skills like buoyancy control, mask clearing, and regulator recovery—all in the safety of our pool. It teaches them responsibility and teamwork while they have a blast.
- PADI Master Seal Team: Once they are officially Seal Team Members, they can level up! This advanced group tackles 10 specialty missions. They will use flashlights for a "Night Dive" (with the pool lights off), practice "Search and Recovery" to find lost items, and even try "Snapshot" underwater photography. It keeps them diving and building skills until they turn 10.
First Timers & Parties
Just want to dip a toe in?
- PADI Bubblemaker: Ideally suited for a first taste. It is a chance to blow bubbles and play games in the shallow end (max 6 feet) under direct supervision.
- Scuba Birthday Parties: Throw a party they will talk about for years. We provide the gear and the instructors; you bring the cake and the kids. They will play underwater frisbee and torpedo toss in our warm, 90-degree pool.
Ages 10+: The Real Deal
This is where it gets serious. Did you know children as young as 10 can earn their Junior Open Water Certification?
- It’s Not "Lite" Scuba: This isn't a watered-down version of the course. Junior divers learn the exact same physics, safety skills, and equipment mastery as the adults. They earn a global certification that allows them to dive (with a parent or professional) anywhere in the world.
- Building Responsibility: Scuba diving teaches maturity, buddy awareness, and respect for the environment. It is a huge confidence booster for a 10-year-old to know they can handle life-support equipment underwater.
Safety First, Fun Always
We know parents worry, which is why safety is our obsession. Our instructors are patient, certified to work with children, and experts at making learning fun. Plus, our indoor heated pool means no shivering lips—just warm, clear water and happy divers.
