About Mask Leak Sealant 1/4oz - by DRIS Dive Gear SKU: SKU000022

This lubrication is to prevent your mask from leaking. Whether its: facial hair, smile lines, skin wrinkles, or any other issue that is making your mask leak, this will stop the leaks.

This lubrication is meant to go on your mask and seal to your face, lasting up to 6 or more dives before needing to be reapplied.

Unlike vasoline and other lubricants, this will not break down the silicon of your mask or cause any damage to your equipment.

Clear, and odorless, this lubrication has what it takes to make your dives more comfortable with a mask that not only fits right, but now functions correctly!!

Will last 40-80+ leakless dives(depending on the amount used).

Actual jar may look different than pictured as prices on jars fluctuates and we adjust to keep the price low.

This product usually ships with USPS with the small size.  The shipping amount is usually $2.00 - $3.00.

Add an extra jar or two in the product options Tab and save a few bucks!

Proposition 65

Safe Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 – Warnings Required

WARNING: This Dive Right In Scuba product can expose you to cretin chemicals which are known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. For more information go to www.P65Warnings.ca.gov

We appreciate your decision to purchase Dive Right In Scuba products to provide the best in water experience. We take our job seriously! You may have noticed that our products now show a warning label at point of sale referring to carcinogens and birth defects. You may also have begun to see warnings related to carcinogenic substances or substances causing birth defects prominently displayed in hotel lobbies, hospitals, or other places of business recently. These warnings are required by the State of California, and we believe that an explanation of the California statute legislating the requirement will provide you valuable information regarding the relative risks of the chemicals that may be present in consumer products.

In 1986, the State of California passed the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act; otherwise known as “Proposition 65” or "Prop 65". Prop 65 requires businesses like ours to disclose to individuals the presence of chemicals listed in the Act prior to point of sale. The regulations implementing this Act have been amended over time with the most recent updates will take effect on August 30, 2018. There are more than 900 chemicals on the Prop 65 Chemical List, including many chemicals that are found in components of a wide array of consumer goods or are used to manufacture components that make up consumer goods.

Prop 65 does not establish acceptable concentrations for any listed chemical; however, the agency which enforces it has established what is called "safe harbor" exposure levels for about one third of these chemicals below which warnings are not required. These "safe harbor" are established for listed carcinogens based on the quantity of the chemical that would result in one excess case of cancer in an exposed population of 100,000, assuming lifetime (70-year) exposure at the level in question. A similar process is used to establish safe harbor levels for listed reproductive toxicants. Additional information in plain language on safe harbor levels is available from the California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment at http://oehha.ca.gov/Prop65/background/p65plain.html

At Dive Right In Scuba, the safety of your in water experience is our highest priority. We go to great effort to select materials that offer superior value, quality, and durability while also being generally recognized as safe and reliable for the full life of the product. Dive Right In Scuba also works closely with many regulatory bodies, such as the US Coast Guard and Underwriter’s Laboratories, to ensure the longevity of your on-water safety through targeted selection of durable, long lasting materials and components that undergo significant validation testing before being used to manufacture end items. Sometimes the safety promise we offer appears at odds with the health and safety requirements of other legislation in certain parts of the world when some regulations are updated ahead of others. To ensure compliance with applicable legal requirements, Dive Right In Scuba has placed a warning on products that contain a Prop 65 listed chemical, either directly or as a part of the raw material supply chain. This allows us to comply with California law and provide our California consumers with the disclosure required by Prop 65, while still promising the safest on water experience possible.

Dive Right In Scuba is working diligently with regulatory bodies and our own manufacturing partners to continue to improve our product performance and reduce the presence of less desirable chemicals. Water is a precious resource we all share that is important to the health and well-being of our planet and all people. Our goal is to continue to enhance your water life experience while reducing our overall impact to the planet and, in particular, its waterways. While it is a bit of a juggling act to achieve, we are confident you will see continued improvement in both the immediate and long term future. We hope this explanation will enable you to understand why you will be seeing warnings on some our products.

Thank you for your continued use of Dive Right In Scuba products.

  3. Mask seal works best to keep me waterproof review by Richard on 8/27/2015
    Overall Rating

I have a mustache that I shave down to a minimum and also clear cut a decent line under my nose to make a thin mustache. Still I had leak problems until I started using mask sealant. Now I usually dive leak free almost every time, starting with a very close smooth shave before each dive day and also using mask sealant. Safe for silicone dive gear like masks. Every other product I could think of or find in the drug store has petroleum compounds in the ingredients, that are bad for silicone. Makes diving much more pleasurable and trouble free for me. Good price, product and shipping here - effortless no problems before expected delivery.

My no shave November became no shave winter. I purchased a container of this after using O-Ring lubricant wasn't doing the trick. I followed the instructions that DRIS provided after shipment. I got in 6 dives in two days this past weekend and never had to apply it more than once and didn't have a single leak. Will definitely be keeping a container of this in my mask box.

This stuff worked liked a charm. I experienced mask leaks and was considering buying a new mask. I saw this stuff and thought it was worth a try. I have used it on about 10 dives now and must say I'm impressed. I ended up getting another jar.

This is my second reorder but the small jar goes a long way. You do not need to use a lot. I apply a small amount at the locations I tend to get leaks due to facial hairs and wrinkles. I have both. One application is good for two dives.

My mask has been leaking lately and I purchased this as a quick fix. It seems to have worked, but the real issue was air trapping in my hood and moving my mask strap upwards. The one time I used this product, it did help. I've since burned holes in my hood so the trapped air can get out and haven't used the sealant since. I'm thinking about letting my dive buddy use some since he's having some leak issues lately as well.

Much higher viscosity than other products so it forms a much tighter seal over facial hair or areas of the skirt which are rather small. I use it when using my micromask for freediving.

I absolutely love this product! I have tried ten different brands of silicon and most of them wear off 5 minutes into the dive , as soon as a little water gets in. This one actually stays on the mask and will work throughout the whole dive . Definitely worth every penny.

The three times I've used it for my smile lines problem it has worked well. It's better to use your antifog, rinse then dry the edges of the mask. Apply the sealant then place on your dry face. It really sticks and you can Dive Right in with no Problems.

  15. review by Carl Liles on 5/20/2013
    Overall Rating

    Wow it really works!

I am a guy with a big face that is pretty narrow at the temples, and I have a devil of a time with mask leaks. Anyone who has this problem knows that a leak at the temples is the worst, hard to ignore because even a tiny trickle of water drips pretty much right into your eyes. After trying at least 7 or 8 different masks, several of which are touted as "fits narrow faces" or "most popular mask in the world" and still experiencing leaks, I was more than a little discouraged.

I stumbled across this product when Googling about mask leaks. While it seemed expensive to me, it had good reviews so I figured what the heck. The product arrived in a small unlabeled bottle. It is a clear substance with the viscosity of vaseline, but it is EXTREMELY sticky/tacky. It has no smell, and it can be applied in a very thin film. I apply a small amount to the skirt on my mask at the temples, and that is just enough adhesion to seal it tight....EUREKA!

The product does not seem to dry out, and while it is a little difficult to remove from your face (wiping off with a towel works well) it does the job perfectly! I also think the little bottle will last quite a while.

Dive Right In Scuba shipped very quickly, and the product was well packaged and arrived in perfect shape. Thanks for the great product!

Just a dab 'll do ya! Because a little goes a long way, the jar will last a long time, and I don't need to reapply between dives on a two-dive boat trip. My first jar lasted through perhaps 30 dives, so I finally had to order a second. Much less messy than vaseline or other alternatives for dealing with my moustache!

Mask leak sealant has changed my whole dive experience. You cant het it i. The uk. The tiny pot looks like it won't do anything, but the tiniest amount around the mask stops any nigling leaks. I used to get a bit panicky over water on my mask and it took 3 attempts to get my open water as I hated re sealing my mask after a flood or remove-replace. Now all fear is gone.
Dris was amazing, as a uk customer, I had a lot of instant communication and the postge was really reasonable. The quoted price was $58, which worried me a bit, but it ended up as $9!!!

Awesome mask leak sealant! Powerful stuff that works packaged in a small jar. I tap the sealant with my fingertip then tap it on the mask rim.
I also apply to my face just a very small amount. It lasts and does not have to be reapplied every time. The product arrived quickly via first class usps. Happy with my purchase.

I am using this product for a 'nonstandard' application - I have sleep apnea, and it works wonderfully well for my nasal pillows mask. I highly recommend this for anyone with sleep apnea who has difficulty with leaks. I have a beard, but have not yet tried it on my full face mask because the nasal pillows are my 'regular' mask.

This product is about the best I have used. I have a very full and large moustache - a little unruly at times - and this product really helps. It is expensive however. The picture you see in the ad is about four times larger than the product.
I would recommend this product, but use it sparingly.

  24. review by Kathryn Smith on 11/1/2012

I purchased this product for somewhat unconventional use. I am a lap swimmer and found that the goggles were causing problems with my eyes. I decided to try an Aqua Sphere swim mask instead. It leaked like a sieve after the first time :-( My face is small and narrow. So I did some research and came across this product. Even tho I guess it is usually used for diving, I decided to try it. After a little experimenting, I found a system that works! I apply a very thin amount to the outer edge of the mask every other swim. It helps a lot if I don't have anything else on my skin. I can usually get through my whole workout without a problem. Occasionally, I have to rinse and re-seat the mask. I am so happy and my eyes have improved a lot by using a mask instead of goggles.

Love this stuff; it works great. I've got a thin, narrow face and have a hard time finding a good fuctioning mask. The test we're taught to use to pick a mask in the store hasn't worked well for me. Can't know if it leaks until I'm under water, and then I can't take it back! Using this sealant, I've also been able to loosen my mask straps and have minimized the skirt indentations I normally have on my face after a dive.

I have read all the reviews before ordering this product. With the remnants of distrust, I tried to curb my favorite but a little self-will mask. What can I say? If I continue to use the sealant, I'm afraid to quite forget my skills in cleaning and purging the mask under water because I just ceased doing it.

I just tried writing a lengthy review and forgot to click the 5 stars thing and it deleted my entire review. So, this time I'm very brief. this stuff is under priced (please don't jack it up though ;)) and is a super product. This tiny jar will last countless dives and I will most definitely be buying another one when I run out. Great product, and awesome service. Thanks guys!!!! I'll be doing more business with you all without a doubt!!!!

I ordered Mask Leak Sealant after dealing with my mask leaking due to my smile lines. My local dive shop told me that this was something that I would just have to deal with. I almost believed that, until this product was recommended to me by a friend. I have to say that from the first time I used this product, I was AMAZED. This product does everything that Dive Right In Scuba says it will do, without leaving a "sticky film" on your face. I no longer have to clear my scuba mask half a dozen times during a dive! Kudo's to Dive Right In Scuba for this fantastic product and for the professional service I've received from your staff!

Mask Leak Sealant is a clear, gooey gel you apply with your finger to the contact edges of your scuba mask. Good mask sealants like this that are designed for scuba equipment and won't damage the mask materials can be hard to find so I was glad to find it here at Dive Right In Scuba. I ordered it online and got it by mail in plenty of time before my next dive trip.

I regularly had annoying, small but constant mask leaks on a lot of dives, but the leaks weer totally cured when I started used mask sealers. The first one I bought was n a tube similar to chap stick. It worked well if I applied it before every dive. This mask seal, Mask Leak Sealant, is a little gooier and like they claim it will work for more than one dive. On a two tank dive day you will probably do fine with just one application.

A great product. Works great and as claimed. Save your air and comfort and get and use this product if you have ant problems with mask leaks.

I have an atomics aquatics frameless mask which I used one time because it leaked so much. I really liked the design and low profile but it just did not hold out the water. I was about to sell this mask but decided to try your mask leak sealant this weekend. NOT A DROP of water came into the mask. One thing however, do not get on the glass as it really smudges. I took care of that little annoyance and everything worked out fine. I am glad I do not have to sell this mask.

Also, don't let the small amount you get concern you. A little really does go a long way, I have used this for 3 dives and It looks like I haven't used any out of the container.

This product works exactly as advertised. It is outstanding. I have been using the same model of mask for about 4 years and am a very active diver. This model started to leak at the smile lines on both sides of my nose. As I age, the lines got deeper. As I have several of the same model with prescription lenses, this was a serious problem. But this product stopped all of the leaking the first time I tried it. No residue on my skin. Easy to wipe off. Just sticky enough to seal reliably. A great product!

I have been remiss in writing a review, but this product is GREAT!!!

My husband had the most bizarre mask seal problem. He tried several masks, has no beard, has kind of a wide face but not mutuant-like. No matter what he did, he couldn't keep the seal on his mask underwater and it almost killed diving for him...

... until we bought some of this! It worked like a CHAMP!

    Thanks :)

I keep it in my mask box. Just got back from Sulawesi, diving in Bunaken and Lembeh Strait for three to four dives a day and never had a leaking problem. Without this sealant I had constant issues, it has been a real dive saver for me.

I give this product top score...

I began having mask leak problems for the first time after growing a beard. My wife liked the beard, so I had to deal with the leaks.

I tried petroleum jelly, but hated the nasty mess on my face, and felt even worse when I learned it was going to shorten the life of my mask.

I spotted this product when it was introduced on Scubabaord.com, and sent for a sample.

The first time I tried it, I applied it directly to my mustache area. Though it solved the leak problem, it was difficult to rinse off my facial hair.

My next trip was to Quadra Island, British Columbia, on the East side of Vancouver Island. This time, I applied the gel only to the lower edge of my mask seal, and it worked perfectly. No mask leak, and no residue on my facial hair. What's more, we did 5 dives that weekend, and my mask maintained its seal for all of the dives, without reapplication.

I'm going to keep this stuff in stock for good...

International Orders

Free Ground Shipping with Orders over $500

We also have some of the best shipping times in the world! Being centrally located in the US gives us prime placement. Most orders are to your door, with Standard Freight, in under 10 days!! With most other retailers you have to pay extra shipping costs to get it there that fast.

Dive Right In Scuba’s Free Shipping will apply to standard ground shipping anywhere in the World on orders totaling $500 or more (excludes rebreathers, tanks, compressors, and weights). Sale items also do not qualify for free shipping. If you work out a special price with Dive Right In Scuba in a quote or email, Free Shipping does NOT qualify. If you decide to have expedited shipping, you will be credited the normal ground shipping fee and only pay the difference to the expedited shipping. If you return the product, you will not be credited back for the free shipping.  This applies to addresses where USPS can make a delivery.  If you need other delivery methods, Free Shipping does NOT apply.  If you don't have a physical address to ship to (Utila), Free Shipping does NOT apply.

Super Saver International is offered for FREE on most orders that total over US $500 that are outside the US. The only problem is this shipping method does not provide realtime tracking information. The delivery time is typically 3 weeks or less, and can take longer to some of the more remote locations. Your items will ship insured and you may pay some import duties and taxes based on your Local Government. Lost packages can only be replaced after USPS has issued payment for the lost items.
US Postal Service Priority Mail International shipping offers you a low-cost and fast delivery option. Not counting time for the package to clear customs, it is about 2 weeks depending on your location. This option does not provide you with realtime tracking information.
US Postal Service Express Mail International is a very cost-effective choice for even faster delivery of your dive gear. This option typically takes about 1 week without counting customs clearing. As with the other USPS, there is no realtime tracking on your purchase. This is available in almost 200 countries around the globe.
UPS Worldwide Expedited International offers you a fast delivery option to more than 60 countries with rapid in-house customs clearance. Typical delivery times is 1 week to your address. UPS.com will automatically e-mail you the realtime tracking number when your order ships from Dive Right In Scuba. Our shopping cart will not offer you the UPS Worldwide Expedited shipping choice if that service is not available in your country.
UPS Worldwide Saver International is the absolute fastest delivery method to any country in about 3 business days or less. You will also receive rapid in-house customs clearance when saving time is the utmost concern for receiving your package. UPS.com automatically e-mails you the realtime tracking number when your order ships from Dive Right In Scuba. Some addresses may require additional time for in-country transit due to the remote location of that address. For service availability and exact delivery time commitments visit the UPS.com website for information about your address or contact us for a more accurate quote.

*Your items will ship insured and you may pay some import duties and taxes based on your Local Government. Lost packages can only be replaced after USPS or UPS has issued payment for the lost items. This is why we recommend shipping with UPS for tracking purposes and faster repayment. We have not lost any packages to date, but things can happen.

60/120-Day Return Policy

Hassle Free Returns

At Dive Right In Scuba, we are happy to extend our hassle free return policy to our customers: a 60/120-day Satisfaction Guarantee on ALL of our merchandise.

    • If it is within 60 days and the items are in new condition with original packaging, there is a 100% credit or refund* on any item.
    • If its within 30 days and the item is used, feel free to send it back and get a full 100% credit towards new equipment!  Thats right, you can send it back and get something different.  What do we do with these returns?  We have a used section on our website that we sell these at a discounted price!  * DRIS can, at our discretion, change this policy depending on the condition of the return.  Meaning, if you beat it up within 30 days and want to return it, you will NOT get a full refund.
    • If it is within 60 days and the items are used, or are not returned with the original packaging, it's not a problem, we will provide you with Loyalty Points for 75% of your products purchase price, that can be used to purchase any other product we sell at Dive Right In Scuba*. * This can be changed at our discretion based on how used or damaged a product is*
    • If it is between 60 - 120 days and the items are in new condition, we will provide you with Loyalty Points for 100% of your products purchase price, that can be used to purchase any product we sell at Dive Right In Scuba
    • You never need to contact us for a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) –Simply return your product to us with the RMA Form, To ensure that your return/exchange is handled in a speedy manner, always include a copy of your receipt. We do recommend calling with any issues to see what the best course of action is, its not always to just send back….so just give us a call and lets figure out the best response!
    • If you have bought an item and it needs to be returned, your original shipping charges are non refundable.
    • Shipping charges are NOT refundable.  If you received Free Shipping on your order, and return it, the charges for the shipping will come out of your refund.  Shipping is inlcuded if you keep the product, a return voids the free shipping.
  • * Certain Items may incure a 10% re-stocking fee(can be higher dependings on custom options or special order).  High dollar items may have a re-stocking fee which covers transaction and shipping charges.  If it is an exchange, there might not re-stocking fee depending on the situation.  We are people too, so we try to make sure it works for everyone depending on what is going on.
  • * Custom items do not qualify for a full refund.  If an item doesn't fit, we will do everything to make sure you get a proper fit.  But, on custom items, there can't always be a 100% refund, due to the custom nature of the item.

To return an item, just follow the simple directions below and we’ll take care of the rest!

    1. Pack the item(s) securely. All returned products should be in the condition they were received in, as well as in their original packaging. Please remember to include all warranty cards and manuals.
    2. Please include the RMA Form with a copy of your receipt.
    3. Send your package via UPS, FedEx or insured Parcel Post. (Please note that shipping charges cannot be refunded.) We recommend shipping ALL products back with an Insured Carrier with tracking numbers. This is the only way to track the product to ensure we receive it. Dive Right In Scuba is not responsible for lost or stolen packages due to Shipping Carriers.

In the event of any questions or problems with your order, or if the product received was defective or damaged, please contact our Customer Service Department within 60 days of receipt. We will make every effort to resolve the problem as quickly as possible. Customer Service can be reached at 1-815-267-8400 Monday through Friday 11 am - 9 pm Central Time or by emailing us at info@diverightinscuba.com.
