About Dry Adhesive & Drysuit Latex Neck Seal - by DRIS Dive Gear SKU: adhesiveneck

Heat up the old one, pull it off, heat up this one and roll it on....Sounds easy!  Its a little more difficult than that, but this neck seal makes repairing your drysuit a breeze!!

Due to NOT knowing if you need the tape on the inside or outside of the seal, the tape does NOT come on the seal.  Some suits have the seal installed on the inside, some on the outside...due to this, we do not install the tape on seal.

Please measure around your neck and use the below guideline for picking your size.  Do not use your dress shirt size, physically measure around your neck for the best fit.

Does not adhere to Neoprene, Trilam, or any other clothe material without an extra step. You would need a base layer of Mcnett Seal Cement completely covering the bonding location(suit side). Let the base layer fully dry, then the tape will adhere to that Urethane based base layer you now have on your suit. Please call with ANY questions or clarification before install.

Be sure to clean your work before heating up. When you think its clean, clean it again. Clean ALL surfaces before heating. That includes the both sides of the tape.

Proposition 65

Safe Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 – Warnings Required

WARNING: This Dive Right In Scuba product can expose you to cretin chemicals which are known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. For more information go to www.P65Warnings.ca.gov

We appreciate your decision to purchase Dive Right In Scuba products to provide the best in water experience. We take our job seriously! You may have noticed that our products now show a warning label at point of sale referring to carcinogens and birth defects. You may also have begun to see warnings related to carcinogenic substances or substances causing birth defects prominently displayed in hotel lobbies, hospitals, or other places of business recently. These warnings are required by the State of California, and we believe that an explanation of the California statute legislating the requirement will provide you valuable information regarding the relative risks of the chemicals that may be present in consumer products.

In 1986, the State of California passed the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act; otherwise known as “Proposition 65” or "Prop 65". Prop 65 requires businesses like ours to disclose to individuals the presence of chemicals listed in the Act prior to point of sale. The regulations implementing this Act have been amended over time with the most recent updates will take effect on August 30, 2018. There are more than 900 chemicals on the Prop 65 Chemical List, including many chemicals that are found in components of a wide array of consumer goods or are used to manufacture components that make up consumer goods.

Prop 65 does not establish acceptable concentrations for any listed chemical; however, the agency which enforces it has established what is called "safe harbor" exposure levels for about one third of these chemicals below which warnings are not required. These "safe harbor" are established for listed carcinogens based on the quantity of the chemical that would result in one excess case of cancer in an exposed population of 100,000, assuming lifetime (70-year) exposure at the level in question. A similar process is used to establish safe harbor levels for listed reproductive toxicants. Additional information in plain language on safe harbor levels is available from the California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment at http://oehha.ca.gov/Prop65/background/p65plain.html

At Dive Right In Scuba, the safety of your in water experience is our highest priority. We go to great effort to select materials that offer superior value, quality, and durability while also being generally recognized as safe and reliable for the full life of the product. Dive Right In Scuba also works closely with many regulatory bodies, such as the US Coast Guard and Underwriter’s Laboratories, to ensure the longevity of your on-water safety through targeted selection of durable, long lasting materials and components that undergo significant validation testing before being used to manufacture end items. Sometimes the safety promise we offer appears at odds with the health and safety requirements of other legislation in certain parts of the world when some regulations are updated ahead of others. To ensure compliance with applicable legal requirements, Dive Right In Scuba has placed a warning on products that contain a Prop 65 listed chemical, either directly or as a part of the raw material supply chain. This allows us to comply with California law and provide our California consumers with the disclosure required by Prop 65, while still promising the safest on water experience possible.

Dive Right In Scuba is working diligently with regulatory bodies and our own manufacturing partners to continue to improve our product performance and reduce the presence of less desirable chemicals. Water is a precious resource we all share that is important to the health and well-being of our planet and all people. Our goal is to continue to enhance your water life experience while reducing our overall impact to the planet and, in particular, its waterways. While it is a bit of a juggling act to achieve, we are confident you will see continued improvement in both the immediate and long term future. We hope this explanation will enable you to understand why you will be seeing warnings on some our products.

Thank you for your continued use of Dive Right In Scuba products.

Cleaned very well before I applied the glue tape and it worked exactly as it's stated it does, suit passed leak test and I've dove two times with no issues! Thanks!

I, as many others, was skeptical about using this on my drysuit. We have all spent considerable sums of money on our suits. The instructions and the videos available made it very easy to replace my neck seal. I had it done myself in very little time. The next day on a dive boat, I was bragging about my neck seal replacement and how well it went and (stayed Dry) more so than the 3+ lb lobster I grabbed that day! Hat's off again, to Dive Right In. Next is wrist seals. I normally would have dove them until failure, but with the ease of this system I'll just swap them out and order extra sets JIC. Ordering today!

I was skeptical at first that I could do this myself. I watched the videos and read the reviews. I called to confirm my plan to use the inside surface on my whites fusion without any special prep. I took my time and it came out perfect. Back in the water in less than a than a week after tearing the old seal. Half a dozen dives on the new seal and dry as a bone. Thanks DRIS!

  4. Easy to Install review by Ryan on 5/25/2016

Just replaced my dry suit neck seal with this product. Was so easy to install with the dry adhesive tape. Can't beat the price if you don't mind taking the time to do it yourself. Whole process took me 30 minutes. I had to let dry suit glue dry overnight so the dry adhesive tape would adhere to my Tri lam suit. Using dry adhesive tape is easier then glue because you can heat the tape in small sections using a heat gun ($20 at home improvement store) and work seal around the suit to get a nice fit without worrying about making a mistake.

I lost a few pounds so I had to replace my seal. Rowenta makes a small iron which I used to install the seal. was not difficult but does take patients. make sure the iron doesn't touch the suit:) follow the directions

Just finished installing this kit on my drysuit. Takes a little time and went very well. Had the right tools which I'm sure makes a difference. The videos on the website are not quite complete and required a phone call to DRIS tech support. I really think the video of the neck seal installation could be improved by showing the step requiring cutting the template and if they showed using a heat gun to install the neck seal to the suit. I got a little anxious as I was heating the latex seal along with the dry adhesive. But pretty easy to fill in the gaps. Diving the suit in 2 days, I'll be keeping my fingers crossed- but the finished product looks really good right now.

Comfortable, but I wish the latex would last a little longer. This neck seal has only lasted for about a year and a half. The Dry Adhesive is awesome.

I bought this as a test to see if it could simplify the process of changing seals on my own and my friends drysuits, initially I liked the easy to work with heat activated glue and it sealed well. I found however after months of using my drysuit in the hot sun of Hawaii that the glue would start to unstick, probably due to the heat, and as such it started to leak. Repairing it was easy as I only needed to heat up that part and apply pressure again. However I found that using the DRIS drysuit glue worked better for me for long term use, I do however keep the glue tape and a seal around if I ever need to preform an emergency quick repair, as this product allows you to put in a new seal in a very short amount of time and be ready to dive.
TL;DR Great for emergency repairs, does not stand up to scorching sun over time.

The adhesive heat tape made it really easy for me to do this repair myself. I no longer have a burping neck seal, and am staying warm and dry. The repair was so simple, I wouldn't hesitate to do it the night before a trip if needed.

These seals are quality seals. I've been using on for some time now, if you size it right the seal feels very conferable. I did the installation my self, its very doable but you might need to do it once or twice. Make sure to use MEK (Methyl Ethyl Ketone) to clean the seals and suit before you put it one.

Nice seal made to be a Great product by an easy to use adhesive that takes only minutes to use I used a small heat gun and it melted quickly and then set up very nicely. I liked it so well that I ordered another seal to have on hand for next time

Replaced my neck seal in an afternoon. All materials were included to put the new seal in, but I used some aqua seal over the top of the seam to ensure I had no leaks. Everything shipped quickly, and I received the product in Hawaii very quickly. Dove the new seal my first weekend with no issues; except a leak in my old zipper! I'll be buying one of those and replacing that from dri soon.

I have always used Glue to repair my suit, after using the dry adhesive for my wrist seals, I was sold. The dry adhesive is priceless! No more mess when replacing seals. The most difficult part is to ensure a tight bond, clean it, clean it, and clean it again! Great heavy duty neck seal, and more than enough adhesive, thanks again guys!

I used this on my first-ever drysuit repair. I used a hairdryer to remove the old seals and an iron (on polyester: level 2 of 4 on my iron) to attach the adhesive to the seal, and the seal to the suit. Everything worked out OK, except that I didn't get the seal perfectly centered. It works, but it's not the most attractive. Start at the front, so that at least the front looks good! :)

One thing to be aware of: this adhesive will only bond to rubber or urethane (or existing glue)--but not nylon! So, you will want to most likely leave the old seals there if they are in solid condition. In my case, though, the seals were cracked and needed to be removed. So, I ended up having to bond them to the inside of the (bilam) suit, rather than the top as the old ones were.

Worked Great! This one was a perfect fit for my Whites Fusion dry suit. I didn't have a heat gun, but between the cost of the seal and the heat gun I was able to do the repair myself quicker and for far less than it would have cost to take it to the shop. Didn't have MEK, so I used repeated wipe-downs with acetone (nail polish remover) to clean up the gluing surfaces, which seems to have worked well. I was intimidated by the project at first, but once I jumped in I realized I had nothing to fear. It was a piece of cake! I've been diving it since October 2010 (it's now July 2011) and it's held up extremely well! No leaks and the seal quality is great. Sizing was an accurate fit, too. When I first cut it, however, I did leave it a little tight to cover for latex fatigue. I don't know if these will fatigue ("stretch") much over time, but at this point it's very comfortable. Don't forget to get the seal saver to keep your seals lasting a long time, too!

I ordered the neck seal on a Saturday, got it on Wednesday, and dove it Thursday. Super easy and strong. Had a couple questions on cleaning prior to adhesion, and both were answered with genuine concern and not with the "how many times am I going to hear this same question" attitude that is found with some online stores. The staff was prompt and courteous. Had only one issue with the first dive with the new seal, and that was that a wrist seal tore. Guess thats why I am here, to get wrist seals. Guess thats what I get for diving it hard and putting it away wet last Spring.....If the wrist seals are as great and easy as the neck seal, I am a customer for life! Great job with the dry adhesive. Very flexible and if you mess it up a little, heat it up a bit and it'll move a lil for you. Love it!

this neck seal is a perfect fit and does not need trimming. The dry adhesive made it so easy to install this myself. A simple phone call to Mike and all my questions were answered. This is a real dive shop not some fly by night dot com company. They answer the phone right away and are always so polite and willing to help. The internet still has some gems like DRIS!!

Dry Adhesive Drysuit Latex Neck Seal
I was a little apprehensive about changing my our next seal, but this new system made it easy.
It worked just as advertised. The instructions are good and the demo video was helpful too.
The nice thing about the tape adhesive is that you can precisely position the seal on the suit before locking it in place.
I used the iron for the first step and the heat gun for the second seal on the suit like the instructions said and both worked fine. You really do not need to get the latex or tape that hot for it to bond. You can press it together with you hands to get it seated evenly all a round and then go back and heat it a little more to roll it thoroughly. This way you do not have to worry about getting a crease or a pucker on the seal, which is easy to do if you are not careful.
I did have a small fold where a clamp was that got glued together by mistake, but a little heat and some MEK on a cloth released it easily.
All in all, a great system. Easy to use and holds tight.
    A definite recommendation!

This seal worked great. Followed the video directions on heating and ironing tape to seal, used heat gun to apply to suit (Nexus 3) being careful to setup work area to keep suit stationary while working and had no problems. Directions and/or tutorial would benefit by showing he application to the suit, but I had no problems. Shipping was great and all my questions were answered promptly.

I was somewhat nervous about attempting a neck seal repair without any previous experience. The online tutorial video guided me through the installation and my new seal works great. Also the heated adhesive works great; it is both easy to install and keeps the water out. I would not hesitate to attempt installing new seals in my drysuit again.

This is why we recommend shipping with UPS for tracking purposes and faster repayment. We have not lost any packages to date, but things can happen.

You will notice that when you pick your shipping options, you will be provided with an ETA of arrival for the specified shipping you decide to go with. If you have any questions or need help with deciding which shipping option is the best for getting your product to you on time, please feel free to call us at (815) 267-8400, and we can help you in getting your package in time.

You will be provided with a tracking number when your product ships so you can track the status of your new products. Please remember that UPS does not count weekends into delivery times.

Feel free to call Dive Right In Scuba if you want to ensure we have your product in stock. We try to have all products in stock, but no matter how hard we try, sometimes we run out of an item. We will do everything in our power to ensure your products arrive in time for your trip or dive and to provide you with the service you deserve.

*Please note that if you receive free shipping and return a product, the shipping costs will be deducted on your return invoice. *

Thanks for all of your support!!

60/120-Day Return Policy

Hassle Free Returns

At Dive Right In Scuba, we are happy to extend our hassle free return policy to our customers: a 60/120-day Satisfaction Guarantee on ALL of our merchandise.

    • If it is within 60 days and the items are in new condition with original packaging, there is a 100% credit or refund* on any item.
    • If its within 30 days and the item is used, feel free to send it back and get a full 100% credit towards new equipment!  Thats right, you can send it back and get something different.  What do we do with these returns?  We have a used section on our website that we sell these at a discounted price!  * DRIS can, at our discretion, change this policy depending on the condition of the return.  Meaning, if you beat it up within 30 days and want to return it, you will NOT get a full refund.
    • If it is within 60 days and the items are used, or are not returned with the original packaging, it's not a problem, we will provide you with Loyalty Points for 75% of your products purchase price, that can be used to purchase any other product we sell at Dive Right In Scuba*. * This can be changed at our discretion based on how used or damaged a product is*
    • If it is between 60 - 120 days and the items are in new condition, we will provide you with Loyalty Points for 100% of your products purchase price, that can be used to purchase any product we sell at Dive Right In Scuba
    • You never need to contact us for a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) –Simply return your product to us with the RMA Form, To ensure that your return/exchange is handled in a speedy manner, always include a copy of your receipt. We do recommend calling with any issues to see what the best course of action is, its not always to just send back….so just give us a call and lets figure out the best response!
    • If you have bought an item and it needs to be returned, your original shipping charges are non refundable.
    • Shipping charges are NOT refundable.  If you received Free Shipping on your order, and return it, the charges for the shipping will come out of your refund.  Shipping is inlcuded if you keep the product, a return voids the free shipping.
  • * Certain Items may incure a 10% re-stocking fee(can be higher dependings on custom options or special order).  High dollar items may have a re-stocking fee which covers transaction and shipping charges.  If it is an exchange, there might not re-stocking fee depending on the situation.  We are people too, so we try to make sure it works for everyone depending on what is going on.
  • * Custom items do not qualify for a full refund.  If an item doesn't fit, we will do everything to make sure you get a proper fit.  But, on custom items, there can't always be a 100% refund, due to the custom nature of the item.

To return an item, just follow the simple directions below and we’ll take care of the rest!

    1. Pack the item(s) securely. All returned products should be in the condition they were received in, as well as in their original packaging. Please remember to include all warranty cards and manuals.
    2. Please include the RMA Form with a copy of your receipt.
    3. Send your package via UPS, FedEx or insured Parcel Post. (Please note that shipping charges cannot be refunded.) We recommend shipping ALL products back with an Insured Carrier with tracking numbers. This is the only way to track the product to ensure we receive it. Dive Right In Scuba is not responsible for lost or stolen packages due to Shipping Carriers.

In the event of any questions or problems with your order, or if the product received was defective or damaged, please contact our Customer Service Department within 60 days of receipt. We will make every effort to resolve the problem as quickly as possible. Customer Service can be reached at 1-815-267-8400 Monday through Friday 11 am - 9 pm Central Time or by emailing us at info@diverightinscuba.com.
