Earn your SCUBA Diving Merit Badge at Dive Right In Scuba!

Our merit badge program is tied in with the PADI Open Water Diver certification course. We will supply the Merit Badge Series Manual that needs to be completed, along with the PADI Open Water Code.

To earn the scuba diving merit badge, you will need to:

  • Complete the EFR First Aid, CPR and AED course

  • Complete the PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider course

  • Complete a basic swim test, along with a ten-minute float

  • Earn the PADI Open Water Diver rating

  • Earn your Swimming Merit Badge

  • Earn your Swimming Merit Badge

In addition, you will need to understand and learn:

  • The divers' code (as found in the booklets)

  • Diving hand signals (as found in the booklets)

  • The eco system (this is completed in our Project AWARE program)

  • 3 career opportunities (this is a task we will assign early in the program for you to complete)

  • Hypothermia, squeezes, DCI, nitrogen narcosis, motion sickness, fatigue, overexertion, cardiac emergencies, heat reaction, dehydration, aquatic injuries and how to treat cuts and scrapes. (All of these will be taught in the Open Water course, PADI Marine Life Injuries, and the EFR program.)

Cost to earn the SCUBA Merit Badge: The PADI Open Water Diver course cost + an additional $150

By the end of the course, you will have earned the following certifications from PADI: Open Water Diver, Marine Life Injuries, Project AWARE, EFR, and PADI Emergency O2 Provider. You will also qualify for the following Boy Scout merit Badges: Swimming, SCUBA, and First Aid!
