About Hose Clip Retainer - by Dive Rite SKU: AC2019

If you don’t have the time or patience for tying knots then, the Hose Clip Retainer is the solution.

This re-usable bungee with tab can be used to secure a bolt snap to a hose, a gauge or a light.

Simply thread the bungee loop through the eyelet of a snap, stretch around the hose, and bring the bungee loop over the tab. Keep a dozen of these in your dive kit; you’ll be surprised how quickly your dive buddies “borrow” them never to return.

Proposition 65

Safe Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 – Warnings Required

WARNING: This Dive Right In Scuba product can expose you to cretin chemicals which are known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. For more information go to www.P65Warnings.ca.gov

We appreciate your decision to purchase Dive Right In Scuba products to provide the best in water experience. We take our job seriously! You may have noticed that our products now show a warning label at point of sale referring to carcinogens and birth defects. You may also have begun to see warnings related to carcinogenic substances or substances causing birth defects prominently displayed in hotel lobbies, hospitals, or other places of business recently. These warnings are required by the State of California, and we believe that an explanation of the California statute legislating the requirement will provide you valuable information regarding the relative risks of the chemicals that may be present in consumer products.

In 1986, the State of California passed the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act; otherwise known as “Proposition 65” or "Prop 65". Prop 65 requires businesses like ours to disclose to individuals the presence of chemicals listed in the Act prior to point of sale. The regulations implementing this Act have been amended over time with the most recent updates will take effect on August 30, 2018. There are more than 900 chemicals on the Prop 65 Chemical List, including many chemicals that are found in components of a wide array of consumer goods or are used to manufacture components that make up consumer goods.

Prop 65 does not establish acceptable concentrations for any listed chemical; however, the agency which enforces it has established what is called "safe harbor" exposure levels for about one third of these chemicals below which warnings are not required. These "safe harbor" are established for listed carcinogens based on the quantity of the chemical that would result in one excess case of cancer in an exposed population of 100,000, assuming lifetime (70-year) exposure at the level in question. A similar process is used to establish safe harbor levels for listed reproductive toxicants. Additional information in plain language on safe harbor levels is available from the California Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment at http://oehha.ca.gov/Prop65/background/p65plain.html

At Dive Right In Scuba, the safety of your in water experience is our highest priority. We go to great effort to select materials that offer superior value, quality, and durability while also being generally recognized as safe and reliable for the full life of the product. Dive Right In Scuba also works closely with many regulatory bodies, such as the US Coast Guard and Underwriter’s Laboratories, to ensure the longevity of your on-water safety through targeted selection of durable, long lasting materials and components that undergo significant validation testing before being used to manufacture end items. Sometimes the safety promise we offer appears at odds with the health and safety requirements of other legislation in certain parts of the world when some regulations are updated ahead of others. To ensure compliance with applicable legal requirements, Dive Right In Scuba has placed a warning on products that contain a Prop 65 listed chemical, either directly or as a part of the raw material supply chain. This allows us to comply with California law and provide our California consumers with the disclosure required by Prop 65, while still promising the safest on water experience possible.

Dive Right In Scuba is working diligently with regulatory bodies and our own manufacturing partners to continue to improve our product performance and reduce the presence of less desirable chemicals. Water is a precious resource we all share that is important to the health and well-being of our planet and all people. Our goal is to continue to enhance your water life experience while reducing our overall impact to the planet and, in particular, its waterways. While it is a bit of a juggling act to achieve, we are confident you will see continued improvement in both the immediate and long term future. We hope this explanation will enable you to understand why you will be seeing warnings on some our products.

Thank you for your continued use of Dive Right In Scuba products.

  1. Great Accessory review by NC Dive on 2/20/2019
    Overall Rating

Work really well. Before, I cabled tied everything. These hold fast and are easy to release if needed.

  2. Great gadget review by Dave on 7/22/2017
    Overall Rating

I always keep a few of these in my save a dive kit. They are a great way of securing hoses while still leaving the ability to break it away if necessary. I use it to secure my backup spg to my left thigh D ring (I have an air integrated computer but keep a backup Spg for redundancy). These are a great little product.

  3. Simply Concept & Good Product review by Mike on 7/22/2017
    Overall Rating

Pretty simple product. I bought a bunch of these because you never know when you'll need a few, and it's good to throw in your save a dive kit. I recently used one to attach my spg hose to a bolt snap, and although I've only used that setup on a few dives so far, it's worked great and I have no complaints. The hose is held tightly in place and they come on/off in no time.

  4. Where were these all my life review by budprop on 8/23/2016
    Overall Rating

After using these I don't know how I have functioned without them. For the price and what they do I am amazed. I used these clips to attach cheep aluminum carabineers to my hoses (and everything else) to keep them secured. The only negative is that it makes it too easy to add stuff to my kit.

  5. Easy to use and remove review by Daniel on 5/20/2016
    Overall Rating

I used to use zip-ties but now I use these to attach snap bolts to my hoses. Easy to adjust, attach, and remove. Also, easily cut or broken if needed during an emergency. No issues so far and seems to stay secure.

  6. Quick and easy review by Eric on 5/17/2016
    Overall Rating

Really handy little item, easy to attach/ detach but still hold things tight

  7. Useful for clips review by Alb on 4/21/2016
    Overall Rating

Using this and clip is very useful for attaching hoses and gear to d rings. It is very nice and can be easily removed without any hassle.

  8. Good clips review by jess on 4/16/2016
    Overall Rating

These clips are very useful you can use them to clip gear to your D rings. You can use them to just keep broken zippers closed. There are so many uses for these simple devices.

  9. So useful review by David on 4/11/2016
    Overall Rating

This little nylon attachment is so useful. I never thought such a small thing could be so useful. It allows you to attach lots of gear to your harness.

  10. Just works review by albert on 4/6/2016

Wrap this around a bolt clip and attach equipment to it.

  11. Tabs that can be used for lots of thing review by albert on 4/5/2016
    Overall Rating

The re-usable bungee tabs are useful to secure bolt snaps for equipment. It comes on and off easily so you can change the modularity of your bcd or backplate easily.

  12. Very useful little device review by ray on 4/3/2016
    Overall Rating

This little device is useful when connecting things to your BCD or clipping things off like hoses.

  13. So many uses. review by jessi on 4/1/2016
    Overall Rating

These have so many uses it amazes me still of how many different ways I can still find to utilize this to connect my gear or organize my BCD or backplate.

  14. Does the Job review by Steve on 3/30/2016
    Overall Rating

These little clips are really convenient and simple to use. I used one for the reg on my long hose and one on my SPG. The one on the Reg worked great but the one the SPG kept sliding up & down the hose so I will have to tie some kind of stop for it. If I have to do that I might as well just use cave line & tie it on ( which is what I will end up doing anyway).

  15. Great way to clip away your gear review by Eric on 3/27/2016
    Overall Rating

This is a good product to clip away your gear. It is strong and doesn't take much effort to put on or tank off. Keep a few spares in your bag because you may need some.

  16. Great for attaching hoses review by Eric on 3/25/2016
    Overall Rating

This is create for attaching hoses. There are many ways to use this to attach to your BCD.It is a high quality piece and is very durable.

  17. Good, but using bungee cord is just as effective and cheaper review by stephen on 3/16/2016
    Overall Rating

I find this an item of convenience, because you can make a similar device out of bungee cord and make many more for the same price. It is more professionally put together though. I use this to clip my SPG onto my BCD so it doesn't drag on the coral reefs by accident. I also wear a wireless dive computer so I rarely ever need to check my SPG anyways.

  18. Great Product With Multiple Uses review by Chris on 3/7/2016
    Overall Rating

These keepers (you get two to a package) are very handy and have just as many useful non-scuba uses. I use one in my house for cable management, another couple on my kayak. For the price, make sure to order a few, you'll definitely use them.

  19. Great review by Richard on 1/27/2016
    Overall Rating

I'm not going to bore you with a long review...if your philosophy is KISS (you know what it means) then these are for you. Super easy to use and I will buy more of these.

  20. Works just as you would expect review by Bob on 1/27/2016
    Overall Rating

This works just as you would expect. I use them for a number of items that need easily removable clips, but that don't remove too easily so that they are removing when you don't want them to. It's nice to keep a few extra of these in the tools bag, as I will occasionally find a time when I am wanting extras of these. I've used these for years and haven't had a failure yet with them.

  21. Highly Recommended review by Brandon on 7/27/2015
    Overall Rating

I love these clips for quickly attaching snap rings to gauges, or quick rigs before a dive. They are very secure and last a long time too. A great multi purpose item to add to your save-a-dive kit.

  22. Secure and easy review by Karl on 6/26/2015
    Overall Rating

Secure attachment and very quick and easy, this is not the first order I have made of these, I have given some away too, they work great and are more secure than they appear to be.

  23. For when you don't have time to tie cave line. review by Jason on 1/27/2015
    Overall Rating

These little ties are great, I have used them with several items, usually to tie a bolt snap on. They do tend to be long for some applications so you need to double wrap as needed. These really work in a pinch to tie on a snap when you don't have time to use cave line, or you want to just see where one should be placed.

  24. It rocks review by Pychet on 12/30/2014
    Overall Rating

These clips help keep my line and others where I want them be. I find it very useful. I have used it on so many dives and it still works. Good buy.

  25. Very simple and effective review by Karl on 9/12/2014
    Overall Rating

These are great for quickly and easily attaching clips or bolt snaps to an LP hose to secure a second stage or an HP hose to secure an spg or really anything else you may want to secure to a hose. It just loops over itself and so far has proved to be very secure. Removable and reusable is a plus and they are cheap enough to have a handful available.

  26. KISS review by Bret on 7/23/2014
    Overall Rating

Crazy simple and secure. Easy way to connect a snap link to hoses.

  27. Works well review by Wayne on 6/9/2014
    Overall Rating

A simple wrap around the hose and I was able to attach my clip. Easy to use.

  28. Great product review by Steven on 12/19/2013

Great product. Works as advertised. Comes 2 to a package. I used them to shorten the length of my canister light cable.

If you can't use Shock Cord, It's easy way for keep your equipment during the dive.

  30. review by will mcmanus on 9/5/2013
    Overall Rating

I use these on my hoses when i want to be able to remove the SS clip fairly easily in place of cave line or shock cord and a properly tied knot.

  31. review by Kevin Bond on 8/26/2013
    Overall Rating

These ratainer clips make attaching bolt snaps to hoses a breeze. I am using them on my long hose and SPG. they are very secure but can be eaisly removed if you need. They come in a back of two, this was not clearly described on the website.

  32. review by JUNNAN ZHOU on 8/21/2013

    简单好用的的retainer,符合我对装备轻量简便的要求。
    用在28lb的bp/w上非常合适。
    和dris合作过多次,总体上还是非常满意的

  33. review by Phil Ormsby on 7/13/2013
    Overall Rating

I needed a way to attach my new Hog SPG to a D-ring mounted on my BCD. As a new diver it was not immediately obvious how to do that. Well, this little retainer is the easy solution!

Simply get a snap clip (also available here at Dive Right in Scuba), pass the bungee cord through the closed loop, round the SPG hose and then loop the closed bungee end over the plastic toggle on the retainer. The bungee tightens against itself.

You now have the hose securely fastened to the snap clip all ready for easy attachment to your BCD D-rings.

That's just one use example - there are hundreds of possibilities and these retainers are small enough and cheap enough to keep several on hand in your dive bag.

    Thanks Dive Right in Scuba!
