Whalon Lake

Here is your page for everything that is going on with our plans for diving at Whalon Lake in Bolingbrook.  With about 85 acres of water, this will be a huge project.  Figuring out how to coincide with the fisherman that are allowed, will be a fun task.  We are currently looking for a good location to mark off for scuba only.  A big thanks to all those that signed the petition to keep this going in the right direction!

Due to a current lack of parking, and the need for other recreational activities at the park, we will be limited to "X" spots when we open the dive quarry.  We will sell parking spot passes and entrance tickets accordingly.  Hopefully, with the support of the community and $income, we can add more parking that will allow for more divers.  When we figure out more with parking, we will keep you posted, but please make plans now for carpooling or being dropped off if you live close enough.  We understand this is not the most convenient for diving, but this will grow and become better for diving.  We can't have everything day one.  The quarry will grow and become something great, and we want to apologize now for growing pains.  Please just bear with us, we want more too...and it will come!  This could be one of the biggest Scuba Diving Quarries in Illinois in time.  If you love to dive, help support another local scuba diving quarry in Illinois.  More details to come as we do more planning for you.  Dive Right In Scuba will continue to try and be the most innovative Scuba Dive Shop in Illinois, while maintaining the best and most knowledgeable customer service, and the most training opportunities by most experienced Dive Instructors!  From Scuba equipment, Classes (Recreational, Technical, and Public safety Classes for all levels even Instructors for all 3 areas), and now another diving quarry, we strive to give the dive community what they need....scuba diving options!

In this topography, if you zoom in, you can see the above sea level numbers.

Subtract the "in quarry" numbers from the numbers "on land" to determine the depth for a certain area.
