I bought this as a way to reduce the weight on my weightbelt. I found leadshot at a reasonable price at a gunshop. The velcro flap system is difficult to open, but retains the lead without spillage. At first I thought it would dig into my back, but it attaches to the backplate between it and my back without my even noticing. Great idea.

I really like these weight pouches. They are well made and the double velcro assures the lead shot is not coming out. These weights work perfect for me diving dry. I clip these weights to my BP/W with D-Links and when I'm ready to dive wet, I just unclip them. They are never in the way. I ordered these and they arrived pronto! The folks at DRIS are a great bunch and very helpful.

This is not a "review" as such but hopefully some helpful info adressing issues raised in some other reviews. I am about to order one of these to add some weight to my ali plate when I need it (when it gets cold). I usually dive steels with little to no wetsuit in summer and a steel backplate is too heavy. I don't want the hassle of owning 2 backplates and switching between them. I hate the idea of bags of little lead pellets, anywhere. I had some soft pouch weights once and they used to leach onto whatever they were left on. I don't want this on my back, or splitting open on a boat. I have some lead sheet that I will cut into strips the same size as the pocket. Each strip will be about a pound I am guessing. So adding the required number of strips will a) be easy to gauge, b) eliminate the above pellet issues, and c) it will stay in one place in the groove unlike a half filled pocket of lead shot. For $13 I can't see a downside!

this is a very well constructed piece. The double velcro is pretty hard to manipulate with the intent present, so there is no doubt in my mind hat it would be able to ever work itself free during a dive or transportation. Nice piece and it can also be used at a p-pouch (inside middle of backplate)

This is a great concept, but in action it has some small issues. Packed full it is too thick to fit behind some plates without feeling it in your back. Half full it allows the shot to move around too much. You end up with more wear at one end than normal, plus you don’t get that solid weight position you might need with the shot not being packed. On another note and this is not a negative on the product itself, it will not work at all with any of my DSS Plates. Great concept overall, but I think it needs a few minor tweaks.

I ordered this after searching for a way to add weigh to my rig to keep it off my belt, The bag is higher.quality then the weight have I am taking the shot out of. Like others have stated the bag becomes to thick after four pounds of shot to fit in the spine the back plate. I am using a dive rite aluminum plate. Overall a good idea.
