This hood is no joke... It is certainly sturdy, and warm, and a beast to get on and off. In terms of comfort, it is a 6 or 7 out of 10. For a guy that normally wears a 7 5/8 hat, the XL size is a bit small up top. It allows a bit of water in on the bottom, but creates a pretty good seal against the neck of my suit. The lower portion of the face opening tends to cause a bit of jaw fatigue if you do not have a reg in you mouth, but with this hood on, you are not prone to "loosing" a reg unexpectedly.
