Tie the line securely to your float and send it to the surface while you control the reel by holding it with your Thumb and forefinger in the center hole. The line can be rewound onto the reel as you ascend. The brass snap is used to attach the reel to a D-ring on your BC and hold the line in place on the reel as well.
The Light Weight (plastic) reel is 3.25" in diameter and is filled with 115' of nylon line.
The Stainless Steel reel is 3" in diameter and is filled with 65' of HD nylon line.
