I use this mounted on a DSS boot, and it really is a great compass. Be warned however that it is not a "universal" compass, as Suunto uses a balanced plate that works well only in a limited zone (i.e. you would need to tilt the compass to use it in the southern hemisphere). However, the only comparable compass that I know of (the uwatec/scubapro FS-2) that has a universal zoning system is IMO less readable.

I prefer to use this compass over the one built into my wrist mount dive computer, even though the computer compass is supposed to be top notch. It has a very forgiving tilt axis. The display window is clear, and the numbers are large. It is super easy to read, day or night, even in our local green water environment. The bezel also turns easily, but does not move once set.

Solid compass. Tolerant of tilting and compatible with a DSS bungee mount. This is really an excellent compass that I'm happy to use every time I dive.
