Typical stainless steel backplate at first glance, but then you notice that the edges are flared out to stop it from digging into your back, there is a huge amount of adjustment allowed with changing the hight of the wing, and there are many holes and such to allow easier side mounting and slinging bottles underneath.

I have been diving the Hollis SS BP now for well over a year. Very happy with the construction and quality of the BP. I have this attached to a Hollis Solo Harness and the Hollis S38 wing. This is an exceptional setup and I would recommend it to any divers that wish to switch from a traditional BCD to a BP&W.

You ever hear someone say backplates are all pretty much the same, well for the most part it is a pretty accurate statement but if you are like me and believe quality is also reflected by its visual appearance than this is the plate for you. I like the way the bottom corners are tapered so they dont dig into your back and this thing is polished so nice you can forget bringing a signal mirror. Take off you rig and point this sucker towards the sky and they will see you from the space station.

The backplate is so well made and polished without a single burr. My trim in the water has never been better. I just went to a backplate system and DRIS gave me a great package deal. I could not find a better price at any dive shop or internet seller. In fact I saved over $200.00 which went towards a dive trip. Keep it up DRIS.
