Verified Buyer My first dive with dry gloves was with these. I have a White's Fusion with the replaceable wrist seals, so I already had the wrist rings, although not the same ones with ridges that DRIS sells to mate with these gloves. However, Mike told me that the normal rings would work, so I tried these gloves out. Getting my gear on, I tore my right silicone wrist seal and didn't have a replacement with me. I figured what the hell, I've got dry gloves. If they leaked, then I'd call the dive. Otherwise, no big deal and I'd replace the seal later.
These took me about 10 seconds to put on my right hand, and about 20 for the left hand. Just roll the cuff back over your hand go you can get your hand in there nice ans snug, then just grab the cuff, stretch it out and back over the ring, and your fingers around the ring, while holding the cuff, to flip the rest of the cuff over the ring. Easy to do and show, but hard to explain. The left side kept coming off when I started sliding around, so I pulled the part on the inside of my wrist over the ring, pinned it against my chest, then pulled the back side up. Snap, done. Maybe DRIS can make a video if enough people have trouble with these, like a previous reviewer stated.
They felt good, looked tight, and...didn't leak a drop for the entire 40-min dive, down to 55ft. I got L/XL in the fleece gloves, and size 11 in these rubber gloves, and they fit perfectly with two exceptions:
1) Either I have freakishly short thumbs, or these have really long thumbs. I had about 3/4" of extra glove on the end of my thumbs, which tended to get in the way. But I could pull the glove tight over my thumb with a wrinkle around the base, and it stuck there for a while due to the fleece glove. I'm thinking these just have long thumbs, because I've never had that much room in gloves before, and the fleece didn't have them at all. Probably going to try to glue the wrinkle flat with Aquaseal to permanently shorten them. At only $10 a pair, I'm not afraid to get creative.
2) I had the same issue with the little fingers as I did with the thumbs, but the extra didn't get in the way.
Other than those two issues, these were fantastic to dive with, and I had much better dexterity with these than I did with my 5mm hyper stretch wet gloves (which are more like 3mm for dexterity), and my hands were warm throughout the dive in 52 degree water. If you have a dry suit with replaceable wrist seals, then you've already got the rings - $10 more and you'll have instant dry gloves!
DRIS gave me terrific advice, and even talked me OUT of getting the $300 glove lock system I was looking at until I had tried these on their own. How can you argue with a store that will sacrifice a sale to be sure the customer is getting what they want?
