I needed a second backup light and didn't want to spend a lot of money on a good light that I wouldn't use a lot, but when i did need it, It had to be a good light. This light does the trick. It's a solid well built light. I think it's good enough to be a primary light in open water dives and great for signaling teammates. The beam is not as tight as the Hollis 5w and just a little less bright then the Hollis. I am happy wirh it and I would recommend it for the price.

I picked up one of these because my sl6 sucks. Plain and simple. This light kicks it's butt! I was impressed with the fit and finish of the light. It is basically a light sabre. Ya there is the 1000 model, get it, and you won't be sorry. I take mine on all the dives now. Side note: The model I have has tight o-rings until there is some moisture applied to the o-rings, once lubed with spit it twists super smooth. I took it on a recent night dive with several others and it kicked their butts! I really like this light and encourage others to buy one. Enough said.

This is a very solidly built and very bright light. One of the best values out there in a dive light. Relatively narrow beam cuts through the muck pretty well. I advised all my friends and students to buy this light.

Excellant construction, very bright. I wouldn't hesitate to use this light as a primary. Fits well in a drysuit pocket. Bought this at Beneath the Sea. By the way Mike, I don't see my points for this posted yet. I have dealt with DRIS often in the past few years and have always been happy with the service, enough that I reccommend them to my dive friends

This light is very well built and extremely bright. I was skeptical at first when I saw the price, but I was very pleased once I received and dove with the light. I liked the light so much that I am ordering a second light for my wife today.

I had a chance to dive this light when two of my dive buddies were evaluating them. I wasn’t actively looking for another backup light, I already have a Halcyon LED Scout that I’m happy really with. After diving this light and comparing it to my backup and the backups my buddies have (Halcyon, Hollis, Intova) for the price I couldn’t pass it up. The beam is tight enough and bright enough to get someone’s attention at distance without being a “saber” and spills out enough to see what’s going on around you without having to directly point the light at it i.e. see what your buddy is doing without blinding them. It was the other features that sold me on the light; nearly the same dimensions as the Halcyon Scout, twist on and off, double O-ring seal, and tail cap attachment point for a snap. My only design criticism for the light is the front bezel that holds the glass lens could get unscrewed underwater when turning the light off with big drygloved hands so I added a drop of blue Loctite to the threads, potential problem solved. Just quit thinking and buy it, when you use it you won’t be sorry.
