Designed in 2004 by XS Scuba, these hot-dip galvanized cylinders are manufactured in North America by Worthington Cylinders. The Worthington Cylinders Corp. is already the world's largest supplier of industrial steel cylinders, and has is becoming the market leader in SCUBA steel cylinders.
   All 15 sizes of the Worthington steel cylinders are now in stock and shipping from our southern California warehouse.

   There are three different "Series" of steel cylinders available. The most popular are high-pressure X-Series™ cylinders, as they offer the most air in the smallest size cylinders. The next is the low-pressure LP-Series™ cylinders which offer lower fill pressures, making them ideal for dive boats and many air compressors. Recently, a final "Series" was added by developing the new Pony-Series™ of small, backup-sized cylinders ranging from 13 to 40 cubic feet in size.

   The exterior of all XS Scuba steel cylinders are hot-dip galvanized. This highly-demanded and preferred finish is utilized on all Worthington steel cylinders offered by XS Scuba. Don't be misled by claims from companies distributing steel cylinders with painted exteriors. There is no better process to protect a steel cylinder from rust and corrosion than hot-dip galvinization!

I just picked up 2 of these tanks from my friend. He wanted to go back to high pressure tanks and I like the low pressure series.

I think these tanks are great, the lower pressure makes them able to be filled anywhere and even on the dive boat if it is equipped (sometimes they have trouble with the high pressure tanks on the boats).

The plus rating allows these tanks to have taken the place oh my high pressure 120's. So now I have all low pressure tanks. I like the 8" diameter and the fact they are not as tall as an AL80, they fit much more comfortably on my back during my dives. With the addition of these tanks I now have a compliment of 2 LP-108, 4 LP-95 and 1 LP-80 as a stage bottle. Of course I also have a 13 and 19cft pony for the dives that require them.

The negative buoyancy of the LP steel series allows me to drop weight from my pouches and keeps my trim better.

I have seen most other sites advertise a price of 380-400 dollars for these tanks, so as usual DRIS has them beat and nobody tops the service to their divers like DRIS.

If you are looking at new tanks and dive steel, try the Low Pressure series and see if you like them. I love them and highly recommend them.

DRIS carries the whole line of XS SCUBA LP series and for the price if you decide low pressure is the way to go for you, ten DRIS can't be beat!
