This Lusca 21 Watt LED is powered by a 10 amp Li-Po rechargeable battery pack providing 5 hours of burntime. The 21 Watt LED emitter outputs 1100 lumens at 5600 kelvin on full power. The Emitter is rated at 50,000 hours and is focused to 6 degrees.New Dry Lid is completely sealed providing protection from water intrusion due to a cut cord or switch boot.Battery Canister is completely sealed preventing water intrusion due to improperly latched lid or forgotten o-ring. Dry Weight is 5 lbs.(2.3kg) 2 lbs(.9 kg) Negative. Recharge Time from Complete Discharge is 7 hours. Universal Input Charger. US Input Cord Provided, UK and European Input Cord Available. Wow if that last review was the short version this review will be the super short!!

Bottom line this is a great light, plenty bright enough for Wreck, Cave Diving or just in general night dives.

One thing I really like about this is that it has the sealed battery compartment which means you can't flood it. Which is great for people like me!

Having come from a 35w HID the small light head on this 21w is a nice change. Makes handling a real or other things a breeze.

I say if your on the fence about it BUY IT! You won't regret it!

The short version is this light is the best purchase I've made for diving. I have had this light for 16 months and made 70+ dives this year with it and can't think of a single negative with this light.

If you're looking at a canister light you're probably trying to decide between LED or HID. I chose LED because I'm a little hard on my gear and I didn't want to worry about a test tube (a glass cover for the bulb on a HID light head). My team-mate chose the Light Monkey 20ah 21 watt HID and we have made roughly 50 dives side-by-side with the lights.

In my opinion the true test of a light is not only how well it lights something up when you're deep and it's dark but if you can use the light to get the attention of a team-mate in the shallows where there's a lot of ambient light.

So here's the unofficial unscientific comparison of the lights. The effective light output is very close, if I'm illuminating something on the bottom and my team-mate puts his light on the same thing at the same time you can't tell where his beam starts and mine ends. The color of the LED is a warmer yellow hue and the HID is a little cooler bluish.

The LED light reflector is fixed (not adjustable) and puts out a cone that has a very bright center. The HID light-head is adjustable and can put out a tighter more focused beam or a much wider beam. I have tested the lights by swimming toward both lights being held by the same diver in semi-dark water with a lot of particulate matter and I could see the HID first buy about 10 feet or roughly about 10-15% further.

The rest of the light is very similar other than the HID has the ballast in the top of the canister. The canister, switch, latches and cord are very durable and well built. With both lights we have had zero problems but Corey at Light Monkey has earned a great reputation for their customer service if it's needed.

If I were to purchase a can light again I would get the LED again but get the 20ah battery since I'm doing longer consecutive dives in a day. I still get 15-20 minutes over the rated 4 hour burn time.

What can I say other than I love this light and I hope this review helps your decision.
