These plugs are precision machined from 316L stainless steel stock and are designed to seal either the 240 BAR or 300 BAR cylinder valves. The o-ring seal prevents leakage of the cylinder gas, even if the valve creeps open due to jarring or temperature change. I have these in every cylinder I own. Not only will they save your gas if the valve gets cracked open but it could protect your valves from damage. In the last year I've seen two friends ruin valves from knocking over cylinders, both times I think this would have prevented the damage. Like Bryce said bring a wrench with you if you use these. If the valve does get opened with these in it all it takes is turning it out about 2 threads till the O-ring no longer seals and the gas escapes, problem solved.

I did not buy this from DRIS but I should have. I paid almost twice this price and I am kicking my self for it. The din plug is super high quality and does exactly what it is ment for. But if for some chance you do turn on the valve while this is installed you will need a wrench to remove. Just some food for though. you will need to bring a wrench along in your dive bag.

I was a tool and die maker for 10 yrs and the quality of these bad boys is what you get when each piece is done individually by a superior machinist.
If you tank accidently gets turned on you wont have to worry about losing a lb of air/oxygen/helium. Could save you tons.
