My first time using this was on a recent trip to Roatan, Honduras. We tested it out with our boat Captain prior to diving and then on a trip back in with only a small group of divers on board due to 5' to 7' seas, we did a real sea trial. Three of us from our team got in the water keeping together well off shore and had the boat sail away from us staying in constant radio communications. They lost sight of us within minutes and could not see or find us at all in the swells. I was amazed how easy we could see the boat but no one on board could spot us. I guided the boat to our location and was picked up without incident. For the record, this test was well planned and executed with several back-up devices and plans should the radio had failed. I wouldn't go off shore without it. It's an awesome tool for safety. Easy to register and use.

This has been on multiple dives with me and is great. Personally for me it is used for talking to the boats when conducting research. The fact that I know I have a radio with me incase of an anchor line failure or something where the boat drifts away, I have something that I can tell the boat where to find me and my exact GPS coordinates. It also works very well in diver to shore communications. The software does need to be upgraded however and that is very easy to do just following to instructions online.

It's been on 3 trips with me so far. We test them on the boat by calling the captain from deck. In Cozumel the dive guides all had them.
The software is a bit '1.0' but there are firmware updates available and I'm sure it will improve.
Main thing is it's a great safety device, and has been a long time coming.
