Submited By: Christopher H. on 01/25/2010 Great value for the price! If you're looking to begin diving dry, or are looking for a light-weight suit for travel, strongly consider this suit for exposure protection.
I was a little hesitant making the purchase, as a) it was my first drysuit, and b) the model had not yet been stocked. However, given that it would get my into diving dry a full year earlier than anticipated, I took the plunge. A few careful measurements with Mike and Heather, a couple of weeks for custom manufacture, and some careful seal trimming, and I was in business.
This is a bilaminate suit--cordura exterior and plastic interior. The manufacturer has forgone the third interior layer of cordura. This results in a significant weight and cost savings, and has an added benefit of improving the flexibility, as compared to the TLS suits my local dive shop was using. The suit appears very rugged, however, I would use caution if diving particularly abrasive environments--deep penetration in very jagged steel wrecks, etc.
In the past week, I dove the suit in a confined water session and three short ice dives. In 37 degree water, I was warm and dry; so far, not a leak! In short, a very high quality suit at an unbeatable price.
