An old standby, about as bright as glow sticks. takes AAA which is nice and easy to find. Other beacons take strange batteries that arent as easily obtained.

This unit is about 8 inches long and has fairly bright red light comparable to the output of a quality glow stick. I have taken it on a few dives, definitely makes it easier to be seen from behind and the side. It seems to seal well, and it is slightly positive. I imagine the batteries will last a long time. I would recommend this to a friend. Dive Right in has been a pleasure to deal with.

This is a super simple and effective Dive Beacon. The best thing about this one compared to so many others is it will more of less float head up off that tank rather than lie down and get hidden somewhere. The unit is not positive, but the cone section is positive enough to where it will float up some rather than lie down completely. I use this at night and murky water dives and I also put them on students in these conditions.
A couple of things to note. The body is now green instead of yellow and the standard red led bulb gives it a burn time of about 24 hours. You can get the optional high intensity xenon bulb separately from UK that is much brighter, but only offers the 2-2.5 hour burn time. Considering this lights purpose I cannot see any reason to get the xenon with the short burn time. It also comes with good quality alkaline batteries and a good quality lanyard for attachment.
Overall a great choice for replacing those chemical lights.
