While this is better than no strobe, I wouldn't highly recommend it as a standalone strobe purchase. It's a good deal as part of the package that comes together with the camera and wide angle lens, but on its own, I would recommend a different setup, like one of the entry inon strobes with ultralight arm. That said, any strobe that's a bit nicer is going to cost several hundred more. The problem with this strobe is that it is just not high enough power to make a huge difference for anything but macro photography. But if you are interested solely in macro photography then this strobe will give you much better pictures, and it's reasonably priced.
