This plate is great! Lots and Lots of holes for mounting whatever you may need. Combine with a good harness and you have a great setup that will last as long as you want it to. I changed from a BCD and don't think I can ever go back. Highly customizable and if you dive a steel tank then you can probably ditch your weight belt. Probably wouldn't recommend a BP/W setup for a brand new diver due to the adjustments needed to setup properly, if you build it yourself. Once you become comfortable with diving if you are the type of person that likes to know your gear inside and out, then go with the BP/W. Takes a dive or two to fully adjust but its an awesome way to go. Also dive right in scuba is a great company to do business with, they will take good care of you, and they carry quality products.

Straight-up stainless steel backplate. The nice thing about the HOG plate is they have an extra slot for the tank cam band if you want to lower the bottom cam band. Also has slot instead of a hole for lower bolt from doubles or securing single tank wing. This is a nice feature as you don't need to worry about being 'dead-on' when banding your doubles. For the price, you can't find a better backplate, and dealing with DRIS is always a pleasure.

I bought this to replace an aluminum plate in my Apex WTX system. Fit perfectly and appears to be well made. Finish is nice (no rough spots). Also looks like it will adapt just fine when I use it as a straight backplate. Excellent product at a great price, and got to me in time for a dive trip despite short ordering lead time. Great Service from DRIS!
