Submited By: Jordan B. on 05/11/2012 Verified Buyer I tried these out a few months ago during a demo and really liked them so I decided to get a pair to replace my $25 pair of Deep See 5mm Superzip. When I received them I expected to receive a pair of boots that was worth $65.
Instead I received a pair that was made with very similar qualities to my $25 pair. I noticed on every box of a waterproof brand product a statement: "We would compare our boot to it's competition - if it had any. Try this boot then buy our competitors, go ahead - We dare you." I laughed when I saw this because this boot is HIGHLY OVERPRICED.
I'm not saying that this boot isn't good, because it does everything a boot is supposed to do. The neoprene isn't anything special and the only notable difference is the supposed "semi-dry ankle seal" which sort of works but it a feature that definitely does not make it $65. The inside is adequate and my foot was comfortable when I demoed them a while back.
The outer sole was by far my biggest disappointment. Usually when you aim for a more expensive boot, the shape and design of the sole is what changes. However, the outer sole on the B1 6.5mm Semi Dry was the same exact traction pattern and material as my $25 deep see pair.
Overall I didn't find any notable problem with the boots but I didn't find anything that was notable. If your looking to spend $50+ on a pair of boots then do not waste your money on these and instead go with another brand such as the Mares 6.5mm Trilastic boot. You can find a pair of equal quality for a third of the cost.
As far as purchasing these from DiveRightInScuba I had absolutely no problem. The staff are very friendly and actually ordered these for me by request. They are also allowing me to exchange them for a different pair.
